Nobody has said anything about his injury. They are keeping it close to the chest it seems.

Ellis and Eckholm have been the most useless this series.

Tbh, Pekka hasn’t been as sharp as usual. Some criticism is warranted.

He played well last night but there were only a few high quality shots he had to defend. The real difference last night was not letting their O get through the neutral zone uncontested. And use of the forecheck. Pekka had a few good saves, but the D was WAAAYYYY better last night.

Yeah- I hate to admit it because they are 2 of my favorite players. Ellis has been the most significant player who has not contributed when compared to his regular season performance. He isn’t giving his body up like he usually does. Maybe because his experience has taught him to save for the later rounds. I dunno- but I’m disappointed in what he hasn’t shown for sure.

Agreed. I’m not saying Pekka doesn’t warrant criticism, just that people seem to completely overlook just how bad the defense has performed in the three losses.

About to start their 14th game to hopefully go to the finals... 14.

Team's going to be worn out.

ehhhhh that's what Pekka apologists say. But...

Dude is letting clear shots go right by him. Good goalkeepers don't get ridiculously out of position like he is the moment someone takes a shot. Dude literally dives to the ice... worst thing you could do outside of leaving the net (which he also does way too much and freaks out trying to get back in)

And I think the D has to play differently because they don't trust him to make stops.

I've noticed a trend in the games where the Preds give up multiple scores.

    1) Rinne plays "loose" in the net, near the edge of the paint, and also leaves the net more than usual.
    2) Multiple goals are scored on rebounds.

To me, this says that the defense probably isn't doing enough to keep opponents away from the net, or Rinne is trying to do too much, or both.

Either way, once a few get past him in a game he seems to get rattled.

When he's on his game and the defense is doing their job, he's as good it gets. I'm just hoping that the Preds will stick to the formula they used in games 4 and 6, because the Jets don't seem to have any counter for it.

Agreed. They fixed that in game 6 by putting two or more more players right in front of Rinne to stop all those rebound shots in front and from in behind the net. The defense also shut down Laine, Connor and Byfuligen.
