aite so this gym basically wants me to cook food for their clients. Theybtrying to expand to a full service health spot, gym, they hired a nutritionist, and approached me about cooking for their clients who want that service.

Basically a referral system, I’m still designing the menus cooking buying and delivering to that gym.

In addition to me marketing for them and putting in a client pick up spot for my clients to bring them
Potential new customers what’s a good number to offer them as a %

They basically told me they know nothing and didn’t wanna offend me and would rather I make a proposal to them

I’m thinking a sliding scale of 70 cents which is about 15% profit per meal if it’s under 75, at 100 I’ll go to 85 cents, and then at 150 I’d give them $1 a meal. Does that seem pretty fair to them?

Pretty sure 20% should be your floor. 15% is too low. With food, I believe (non restaurant) markup is 20 to 40%. (Quick Google search said the same)

It's always great getting your own work but make sure it's worth your time

I think he's saying the gym would get 15% of the profits. Or maybe I'm the one misunderstanding.

What exactly do you mean by "putting in a client pickup spot for them"? And what kind of marketing will you be doing for them?

Basically, how much effort/time/money are you putting into this to help them and how much effort/time/money are they putting into this to help you?

Wife use to run a small restaurant. Some of their stuff was marked all the way up to 200% and 300%

Its crazy they didnt make more money. I guess all that other extra stuff adds up fast.

Yeah, restaurant business is notoriously difficult to turn a real profit. My wife loves to cook (and is legitimately great at it, no bs) and she's been dying for 10 years to open up a restaurant. I honestly feel kinda ****** and like I'm stomping on her dreams by always being so skeptical. But man, I just hate to end up in a mountain of debt over a business which we knew the odds were stacked heavily against us. Not to mention my wife would have to leave her current job which pays really well. And she kinda lucked into it tbh so it's not like she could just get easily get another similar paying job down the road.
