    Chargers not re-signing longtime TE Gates


    Not saying we need him...Not saying he'd be our #1 TE (that's taken for sure)...Not saying he'd come as a #2...but
    We could use a good, proven #2. He would be that and could help Walker school JS.

    Our allure to him. A chance to go to a up and coming team that could take it to the house in the next 1-2 yrs. I mean hell he stayed with SD hoping so why not.

    Don't really believe any of what I wrote, but it's off season and the draft is almost over. Undrafted and FA up next until training camp so why not speculate.
    Besides it's as plausible as some of the crazy **** I've seen posted here.

    I'd imagine he will just retire. Dude is old and a shell of his former self. Perhaps the dude truly is in love with the game or something, IDK. But there's nothing else he really needs to prove. And it's not like he'd be getting paid much by another team.

    Absolutely not. Would be a waste of money. I’m not convinced he could even beat jonnu out for number three at this point. That dude is done.

    If we’re gonna get a 3rd te, get a young one. We already have old one covered. And I gotta figure we won’t be seeing two at a time much in this new offense anyway.

    If it's as an assistant to the TE coach bring him in, don't want him as a player at this point in his career. He'll go be Witten's replacement in Dallas for a year imo
