    Consider the film Ararat for your students. It is about the Armenian Genocide. Though, rather than depicting the events of the Genocide it deals with its impact on the Armenian people and diaspora today.

    Typically I pick films that have historical significance. 1st year kids watch Casablanca, and Psycho. This year I added a couple of Film Noir classics for the 2nd year kids. In past years I have shown everything from Gone with the Wind, The God Father, also have show Lawrence of Arabia.

    If you do, there is also a great (HBO or Showtime) movie about the making of Citizen Cane. About how William Randolph Hurst did everything he could to stop the film. And nearlly succeeded.
