Guard @25 “baby bull”

    With the 25th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft ....

    Meet Guard out of UTEP, the Miner himself, Will Hernandez.

    Dude is built like a bull. Already I could see the nickname “baby bull” as he stops bull rushers from touching Mariota - or paving lanes for Henry and company.

    The weaknesses? : he’s short. Only 6’2 not ideal but makes up for it with quickness for a big man and is intense.

    The strengths? : Motor, quick for a big man, relentless, road grader, could be an excellent run protector and lane opener. Plays Nasty!

    Just imagine the O-line with the big boys at the book end and then having to deal with this monster in the middle. “The Nasty Boyz” could be the new slogan for our line.

    Sure LB would be a sexier pick with Harold Landry or a pass rush specialist of some sort... or even the best center in the draft Billy Price out of Ohio State (OH Connection)...

    Bottom line, Mariota has never played a full season, the Titans would theoretically be set @ line for yeeeears (yes Warmack didn’t work but he would go much higher than Hernandez anyways who has a early 2nd round projection).

    Our big knock is Henry running outside too much and being stuffed in the middle - 2 birds one stone. Protect MM and open lanes in the trenches.

    Bring more nastiness to pair for Lewan - man our line would have some ANIMALS AND BEEF - I love it.

    What’s the reasoning from you shooting down the player so quickly though? I mean do u have any response - I know you flap your gums like a know it all on this forum 247 so I wanna at least hear you out on your opinion

    We have good depth and competition at interior OL, resigned Kline and Spain, and brought in Sua-Filo and Pamphile. Why use the 1st round pick on a position that we have good depth, unless it's a game changing player, which he is not?

    You left out one of his weaknesses, which is pass protection. He's a mauler in the run game but not great in pass pro. Your argument about Mariota not playing a full season is a good reason not to draft him.

    Guards are hands down the least talented of all the OLinemen, so you can get one anywhere in any draft.

    2nd is we need a OLB for next year when both our star OLBs contracts run out and you cant find good OLB's outside the 1st round.

    Yeah I get that but even @25 ?? It’s like not we’re taking a guard top 10 again or even top 20.

    The need at LB will probably come first but the Titans don’t have a history of drafting the early - they do have a history of drafting linemen early so all I’m saying is I wouldn’t be surprised nor upset - both fill a need

    our GM has drafted a Tackle high and thats all, because thats where you have to draft most Tackles

    Guards dont play on islands like tackles, therefore the demand for a stud isnt there

    to me the 1st round is reserved for players who get singled out; QB, CB, WR, Tackle, OLB.

    C, G, safteys, TEs, RBs those are 2nd and later positions..
