Bought the lovely wife a Roomba for Christmas...mostly cause I don't like doing the work myself...lol. Just wondering, anyone else have one of the time savers? I really am surprised at how well it works....Roomberto works great.
Ours was good... until we got kids. Gotta scour the area to be cleaned before letting it go. Good for getting under most beds. The erratic pattern could drive some people crazy. Looking into trying other versions... timing is an issue, though. Just too much crap on the floor.
well, I am "kidless" and I agree you have to do a little prep work...I have the 980, supposedly "learns" the house and works up a pattern to clean by.....don't know about all that but it does a good job.
When we bought them - yes "them", due to battery failing and just needing to upgrade - we'd set it in the room, turn it on and then shut the door to that room. When it stopped, we had to assume it was finished. Of course, the battery life is dramatically higher and it can do multiple rooms. Someday we'll try one again.
I always thought they looked a little weak, like one of those old carpet sweepers. I could not see getting much up with them.
If you vacuum regularly, you don't need anything heavy duty. That's why housecleaners have it relatively "easy". Once they do the initial heavy cleaning, the rest is just maintaining.
I have one. Does great with a lab and an Australian shepherd. Typically go about a month before I use a real vacuum to finish it off. Best appliance I have in my place.
I've considered getting one. Too much money for a luxury item though. Plus, no pets means I have minimal vacuuming to do to begin with.
