does anyone know appx how much a game trade in increases with the instruction booklet?

I'm talking old games like NES or genesis or SNES, maybe 1 generation newer.

I found a website that has some instruction booklets for sale for games I own (original instructions not just a reprint) and I'm not knowledgeable enough to know whether a couple bucks for the instructions is actually worth buying.

If you're asking if you can buy the instruction booklet and be able to get more for the game, I doubt it. If the booklets added much value, they would be valuable by themselves. (At least I would think that's how it would work)

I think they do add value but probably less than what the booklets sell for.

I know everybody's out to make a buck but for example an $8 game without instructions may increase to $9-$10 but the instruction book is selling for $3-4. So it really doesn't seem worth it.
Oddly enough, I know the original box (even w/o instructions) adds value to a game.

I regret selling all my SNES stuff now some 18 years later, but if I had to buy it all back boxes and booklets wouldn't matter a lot to me

Pretty much every game is sold without box and booklet now but if they have them (as in both) the value is much higher.

I guess the point of this thread was to see if anyone knows IF (can confirm) there is a price increase for having the booklet.

Since I figure there is, how much? I think I may buy these booklets anyway for 3-4 dollars, but I think the game value will not jump by that much, at least yet.

Maybe more time can increase the game with instructions value.

Right now is *probably* the best time to sell.

And yea, the instructions/booklet would increase the value. Not by any set amount but you should check the waters on ebay.

Instruction books and boxes, like everything in a secondary market, vary in price.

Ranges from 6.99-49.99 with this listing. Just depends on what you have.

Speaking of trade-in value, I just robbed this dude on Craigslist. $170 for an NES top loader console, two dog bone controllers, one NES Advantage stick, one NES Power Pad, and 32 games. The notable games are Star Wars(CIB), Double Dragon(CIB), Mega Man 2, Battletoads, Kirby's Adventure, Castlevania, Street Cop, and Ninja Gaiden.

A lot of the games have manuals as well.

I'm keeping Mega Man 2, Battletoads, and Kirby's Adventure. Everything else is going on eBay.

Mega man 2 is probably the best NES game.

I think that's a good deal but not so outrageous that person was robbed. I bet if you went down the price of everything (read NES rarity guide.com) it'll probably fairly close.
What other games did I you get? Pending what you have I could PM you an offer. Still a few games I'm Looking to get. Maniac mansion, mega man 1, 5 and 6, adventures of Lolo (preferably 2 or 3) but I look for random games sometimes too.

I priced them out with price charting. Came out to $405. Rarity guide doesn't seem to jive with the prices I see on eBay.
