We need to attack FA this year

That's a really good question. I'm leaning toward more of him being a JR project than him having realistic expectations of actually playing RB.

Really the issue with that guy is one good hit to Mariota and he's done.

At 175lbs he's not stopping anyone on a blitz. His pass protecting abilities have to suck at his size.

 

Don't forget we drafted that dude that's like 6'8 from Villanova lol

 

Same for Dion Lewis who is probably 5'8 and 180-185lbs? And yet Brady didn't get killed with him at RB. But they don't ask him to pass pro much. Most of the passing game when he's in is at him on a route (quick passing game), screen or split him out. And a lot of the time if they need help, he just chips and goes into a pattern. Slows down the rush enough and have to cover him.

I get the sense that JRob thinks/hopes Kahlfani might develop into a Dion Lewis type.

 

I don't hate him for being small, he's a decisive runner from the tape I've seen. But he also lost a ton of pre-season snaps to a guy that's not even playing football anywhere.. that was odd to me

 

Not so odd when you consider one of our staff's weaknesses was personnel utilization. They were not very good at that on either side of the ball.

 

That's because he fell about 80 pounds short of the weight requirement for our RBs.
