I mean Pees came out of retirement to coach for Vrabel. That has to mean something I’d say...

 

Familiarity =/= "buddies"

Quit overblowing something, you're never going to hire someone you don't have familiarity with... you think Vrabel is buddies with all these guys? No, he's seen them coach and knows they are solid.

 

Then why'd he say his buddies weren't the right men for the job when he was hired? Sounds like all the right men turned him down and he had hire his unqualified buddies ... shocker.

 

Guys, Vrabel plays cards and has Old Fashioneds with Pees, his son, and Coombs every Thursday.

Since you don't seem to understand Vrabels comment on "hiring his buddies", what he meant was he wasn't going to hire unqualified people just because they were his friends. He has qualified "buddies" since he's been around the league for a while.

He didn't literally mean he was going to hire a bunch of complete strangers just for the sake of not hiring his buddies.

 

I was actually going to add that Vrabel is pretty young/green as a coach so a veteran presence can't hurt... So you're right.

 

If they are qualified why do you care if they are his buddies? Because he answered a question at a press conference? I swear we could hire Bill Belichek as DC, Josh McDaniels for OC, and you would still be pining for Mularky and the toothless wonder.
