I'll put it terms you can understand. "He's cool".

Seriously though, I think he'd be a great/good coach and fit here because he's proven

    1. To have the key ability to not only adjust his offense to his players strengths but to his opponents weaknesses
    2. To win games with 3rd string QBs, 2nd string TEs, second string RBs
    3. To be knowledgeable about various offensive schemes but more importantly the west coast scheme that I think mm8 would benefit in
    4. To have previous chemistry with our GM which should make building a roster/vision smoother and more successful or at the very least more efficient
    5. To have had previous experience as a HC, presumably learned a lot and had the opportunity to take a fresh perspective for the last decade to watch Bill over in NE
    6. To have tons of experience in the playoffs/superbowl which could help in preparing our teams for those games

If Mcdaniels entertains an interview after the Pats season is over with us despite his connection with the Colts he’s gonna be our next coach.

I was really impressed with him during the Texans/NE game when Brissett was the QB. The game plan was completely different, but he knew what his QB could and couldn't do and it worked, at least for one game.

People can give Brady all the credit, but last week I saw a great QB in a great system. Over 100 yards were thrown to the RBs, over 100 thrown to Amendola via short throws. The system is designed to give teams matchup issues, and the QB takes advantage of that.

I'm sure Mariota is smart enough to figure out that a 240 lbs linebacker cannot cover a 5'9 scat back in space, or that a backup CB can't hold a shifty, seasoned route runner. Would Brady be as successful in our system, having to consistently throw into tight windows with WRs who don't know where they are supposed to be, or without the RB checkdown options? No, he wouldn't.

He would be foolish to not go interview a few places in terms of getting teams in a bidding war for his services.

People keep talking about his connection to the Colts....he has no connection to the Colts besides his agent is the same agent as the Colts GM. That doesn't mean that he has hung out with Ballard a bunch.

By connection I mean the reports of Shefty and Rapoport saying it’s a done deal.
