    Point is, if one of them is our OC and we turn in a top 10 offense, they will get looks for next years hc jobs. The other factor is that defillipo was only a qb voach so i dont think the eagles could block him from coming as oc. Rams could block lafleur from coming since id be a lateral move going from oc to oc.

    Im greedy so this is one of the onky ways I see to get us both top offensive minds and two great qb guys to get mariota to the next level.

    I don't think the rule is "no lateral moves", i'm pretty sure that the only way they cant block is if the interview is for HC or GM

    This...the OC that the potential HC is capable of bringing along I think is the most critical thing they will look at. I think Wilks and DeFlip to me sound like a strong combo for all the reasons Jrob is looking. I think Wilks and DLB could dial up an even better defense next year.

    Actually they can block for lateral moves but are at least unlikely to block for upward moves. There have been instances of teams not permitting coordinators under contract to interview for lateral positions.

    What I fear is that there is the distinct possibility that JROb may have tunnel vision and really only wants someone just based on them being in at one time or from New England. At that point the search is still not that legit. We have interviewed a diversity of people so I am sure that my fear is some what unfounded.

    You know if you think about it, its quite simply the media trying to connect dots, basically because JRob was at one point an employee of the team, and they essentially have 3-4 potential coaches out there that connect back to them. Not once have I ever heard Jrob mention he puts any type of stock in patriots employees.

    Its all media spin, people trying to sound smart, and basically drawing the easiest lines. Jrob was with the Pats, Vrabel pl;ayed for the pats....no brainer, hes the number one candidate. meanwhile Jrob has never said or implied anything like that. I addition, AAS was never a patriot, I think he simply hiring a pats guy because he was a pats guy is ridiculous.

    We really don't even know for sure that the interest in McDaniels is even truly there on JRob's part. He may hate the dude for all we know.
