It'd be easy to move away from him. He holds the entire offense back.

If Kirk Cousins isn't available? I'd easily send pick 29-32 to KC for Alex Smith and extend him for two more years.

I think Jags have two options. They either let Robinson go or sign him... if they do sign him they wont have enough money to get Smith or Cousins unless they trade their picks.

They could also save $9M by cutting Malik Jackson. It wouldn't be ideal, but they are stuck with Dareus next year unless they trade him. It would free up some room to sign Robinson, though he may be too rich even for their blood.

At this stage: Jags have 17 million in cap space. Plus Bortles 19mil.

Alex Smith will cost them $20million.

Cousins will be over 20 million.

So at best, it's a wash with Bortles, at worst they probably have 13 million in space. Poz, ARob this year, Fowler the next, Ramsey and Jacks the year after are their key free agents.

They'll be squeezed this year. They'll have 47+ million in 2019 and 65+ million in 2020.

Poz is out. He's barely on the field as it is. I'd guess they either move Jack inside or keep him at SLB and go younger at MLB.

They'd probably like to keep Robinson, but I can't imagine it would be along-term deal this year. He's had one monstrous year, a significant drop in production the following year, and then missed 15 games with a significant knee injury the year after that. Plus, the team just had its best year without him.

Fowler will most likely get the fifth-year option if he can stay out of trouble.

Ramsey will get the fifth-year option.

The way I'm looking at this situation is that team is built to win right now. They have the perfect combination of veteran savvy and young athleticism. They have a RB that probably won't last beyond his first contract because of his style. They need to win right now. I would not hedge my bets on Blake Bortles.

Cap space in 2020 be damned.

If they trade him that defense falls back to what it was in 2015.

They can afford to lose one of them. That offense feels like a ticking time bomb, and they'll need upgrades other than just the QB position. The offense really over achieved this year given what they had, but the weaknesses at OL and in the offense in general could be exposed. As with the Giants and Broncos, a great defense and flawed offense don't make for sustainable success.
