No way, you've lost your mind. There are far too many QB needy teams in the NFL for Smith to be a backup anywhere. If KC let's him go, he will have a number of teams paying him a lot of money to be their starter. At this point, you use a mid to late pick to draft a QB with a similar skillset to Mariota, and you let the new offensive coaching staff groom and teach both of them.

 

wouldn't mind maybe seeing terrelle pryor as a titan with a good OC and coach could also use him on some passing/trick plays to keep defenses honest. The following i believe the titans would be better not bringing back:
1. murray 2. delainie walker (too old now too injury prone) 3.Derrick Morgan 4. harry douglas

He just caught for over 800 yards, more than his pro bowl 2016 season. 3rd pro bowl in a row.

 

We definitely need a back like Dion Lewis. Our 2 RB's now are slow at the point of taking the ball. We need guy who is almost at full speed at that point. I also think we need to upgrade Cassel as backup. No idea how Weeden would do. Kline and Spain need to be put out to pasture as well.

i think if you look at his stats and salary one could argue he is overpaid. in my opinion very average

 

This is assuming he gets cut.

Spending $20m to beat the Dolphins and win the division vs leaving it unused cap space, seems worth it to me.

 

His Average salary is $6.75 million. That's a good deal, even if he is average. Olivier Vernon is slightly above average and he's making nearly 3x that much.
