In his presser today, JRob said he'd like to have it wrapped up by the end of the week. The interview process that is. Doesn't this take McDaniels out of the equation since he couldn't interview until the Pats are done playing?

Wilks Friday maybe?

Would have to wait at least another week, potentially longer on Schwartz, McDaniels & Reich/Defilippo

I never liked Chief Red Hat. Perhaps I'm just holding on to old grudges, but I'd prefer almost anyone else.

 

If we’re hiring a defensive coach, it better be Jim Schwartz. We’d have to change to a 4-3, but it would be worth it.

 

I prefer to go in a different direction than Schwartz, but if we do end up with a retread, he's our best bet
Probably bringing Defilippo as his OC would help soften the blow

I’d like to have Marcus be part of the interview process. Not in terms of his approval, but just let him and the candidates shoot the crap, talk offensive philosophy, what makes you comfortable, what does the candidate think he needs to improve, that kind of thing.

 

I see you don't understand football culture. In case you missed it, JRob is from Pats organization and there, you keep your job if you're doing a great job! JRob has put the world on notice that we are building a Winning Organization...at least as much as he has the power to do so. So if you're coordinator did a bad job and you want to tell JRob he was awesome and no changes necessary...sorry, you're blowing smoke up the wrong person's whatever!

Sure there are organizations that are happy with mediocrity and have a team to bilk money out of the fans. If that's what you're interested...go find another team. The Titans want to win and if you're not helping, get another job somewhere else.

Let's see, would you rather go to the Giants? Didn't they just fire their HC after handing him the reins only a couple of seasons ago and spending a gazillion dollars in free agency? That's stability! Right? NY has intense media scrutiny, the question of whether to keep or dump a 2 time SB winning QB...or ride Eli for another year or two? And OBJ wants to be the highest paid PLAYER in the league and there is turmoil in that locker room. Sounds fantastic!

Or maybe you'd prefer the Colts who's starting QB sat out the season and there are whisperings as to whether he still has a physical problem or a nerve...or it's in his head. Meanwhile, the Texans look to be very tough next year, the Jags have a HOF caliber D, and the Titans are a playoff team on a 'down' year.

Yeah, why would you want to go to the Titans, get more money, have a young qb to develop and a new offense to install and run. Solid OL, Murray and Henry at RB, excellent TE in Walker, solid vet wrs in Decker and Matthews and the top 5 pick in the draft in Corey Davis. Very solid defense and special teams. What's not to like?

 

McDaniels officially out. Eberflus's wife basically posted it on Facebook. It sucks, but if McDaniels really wanted to coach the Titans he would've waited. He wanted that Colts job.

Best case scenario is we go hard after Jim Schwartz, and we sign DeFilippo to run our offense.
