This might be unpopular but I think Mularkey deserves to keep his job even if we lose comfortably next week. If we had finished 8-8 then yeah, goodbye.

He clearly has the locker room. The veteran guys like him and the players hussle until the very end. And we have won a playoff game for the first time in 14 years.

He has also helped transition us from ‘Cleveland Brown like incompetence’ to back on the radar, even if we did underperform against a soft schedule.

We have issues offensively and I think we need to get rid of Robiskie and have Mike bring in someone to develop Mariota and the WRs. He should look at the scheme with Mariota and a new offensive mind in the offseason.

    *ducks for cover*

Completely with you. And let him demote Robiskie. Put him at WR coach which he excels at.

Can’t argue he’s gonna get next year

    Deserved/earned that’s debatable

I think he will be on a short
Leash especially if allowed to keep his system and pick his new Oc

IMO I think we are witnessing Mariota taking over this team in real time here, which is great to watch. I would love to see him take over the playcalling, and we may see that more often going forward.

I still think that AAS/JRob force Mularkey to replace Robiskie in the offseason (unless we go all the way to the SB), but also agree that we will be limited in options for replacement of him.

As much as I dislike Mularkey and continue to think that he holds this team back, I cannot disagree with your logic here. I also think that as Mariota continues to take over the offense (more like Manning did back in the day), the OC and HC will become less prevalent in the offensive scheme.

Why would you want a head coach that you even constantly have to have this discussion about? He’s obviously not the answer.

I completely agree with you. I certainly haven't been a defender of Mularkey to this point despite my post above and have been as frustrated as the next guy. Offensively he is holding us back so I think the compromise is he keeps the job on a short lease and we reboot the offense
