As has already been pointed out, he missed more than one. But that one got Mariota clocked and if it had been a competent referee probably a TD for the Chiefs as well.

What did you guys think about the mental choice to run on 3rd and 10 when the game was on the line ( Mariota blocks for Henry )? About 1 minute 53 seconds left, but with one timeout in their pocket, KC should have stopped any run, and would probably get the ball back around their 10 with well over a minute and half to go get a FG...

At the time my preference was to throw given the play would likely only drain 7 seconds and a time out. And it seems like when we least need it we leave someone wide open for no apparent reason at all and chunks. But I think it was a close call given KC had struggled. Mularkey went conservative.

 

A incomplete throw would have stopped the time and Chiefs would've had a spare timeout. That is too risky. Our defense had stopped them all 2nd half.

 

To me, I would rather had run in that instance. With all the drops, and how our passing game has been lately, don't want to risk any chance of an int . That would stop the clock and they would save the time out. The chiefs d was worn out, running the ball was the best bet.

 

That second half, we basically ran what most colleges are running. Corey Davis looked more comfortable, DH looked comfortable, Mariota looked comfortable.

It only took 18 weeks for the coaches to let the younger guys, who are use to that system, play their game.

 

This is the first time all season that I too felt like the players had the space to operate, Davis and Henry included. Stay no huddle. If Mularkey comes out in anything other than a no huddle after the first 2 plays I want him fired.
