This Defense is not Good.

    Cyprien has played better than people here will admit.

    I do think the D is good. A playmaker would be huge and more depth will help, but lots of bright spots. More CB help and a young rusher would be great.

    One problem last few weeks is injuries. Morgan, DJones, Ryan, and Sims.

    I guess everyone is assuming cyprien has worse numbers than 4 tackles a game. (Nothing great or even particularly good)
    He has 9 games, 1 sack, 1FF and 36 tackles. Very replaceable especially if we bring into account the money. I can't find the missed tackles stats or WR numbers against him in "coverage".

    This thread isn't about placing blame on any unit. It's about pointing out that "this defense is not good." If the defense was good maybe they would have made a play to win the game against a third string QB and RB?

    Everyone knows the offense is not good. Somehow the defense gets a pass. Hell, some people think it's top 10. I don't know how you can watch the games and think that.

    They actually scored a TD yesterday. Everyone knows this defense isnt good, and people arent passing blame on the defensive unit because this OFFENSE was “suppose” to overcome our bad defense this year.

    I woman pushing a stroller makes that play. Good on Casey for being unblocked and tackling a guy with his back turned to him and Woodyard for not kicking the ball through the end zone, I guess.

    And that was the first defensive TD since last year. We need some damn playmakers on D.

    We have an ILB with 5 sacks. A player tied for 2nd in the league in INTs. Adoree is either leading the league or tied in pass break ups. The team is tied for 5th in sacks. Then we have Casey. It's not an elite defense or anything, but there are several guys capable of making plays.
