Anyone watch the CFL? I've never watched a single play, but was bored and heard there was a double-header on for today's holiday. So, I turned a game on. Surprised by how different it really is. The 2 big differences that really standout is that the offense can have numerous players in motion and running towards the line of scrimmage prior to the snap ... usually 2 or 3 guys are starting their routes pre-snap. lol Then, you get 1 point if you create a touchback.
Forgot to mention that they punt on 3rd down and penalties are able to be challenged ... but they get fewer challenges in the game.
I'm a Stampeders fan. Hope you enjoyed what you saw. I started watching in the early 90's when they did the failed US expansion and always loved the sport.
I sometimes watch a couple games every summer before the NFL kicks off, but I certainly don't pay attention once real football come back
I've never watched, but I like it. Just takes some getting used to. Having 1 fewer downs really impacts the ability to call run plays ... if you don't get 4 yards on 1st down, you're in a tough spot.
They also have different clock rules that have to take getting used to too. All in all it's a great league just a little different. As a fan it always good that they start in June so it's football during the summer!!!!
No more a fan of CFL than I am of any other professional football on during the NFL offseason, but that's partly reason to enjoy it. I was one of the few rooting for the XFL to stick around for at least another year. Also enjoy watching some AFL and even indoor football if it's on.
