Sharpe had exactly zero targets from the slot. In fact he only ran routes from the slot 7.7% of the time last year. In contrast Wright was in the slot 88% of the time. So really we didn't even bring Taylor in to compete with Sharpe. We brought him in to replace Wright and Douglas. Corey Davis was drafted to replace Sharpe. Sharpe isn't beating out Decker or Mathews. So that puts him at 5th on the depth chart for sure.
    Taylor>Sharpe is almost a guarantee

CJs receiving numbers are all screens and that one blown coverage play vs Houston, a lineman can catch those passes, CJ had feet for hands

Hmm. I didn't think he had bad hands. Certainly wasn't the reliable receiver Faulk was though.

EVERYONE is calling him our 4th. If you're so convinced he's better than Tajae why would you rank him ahead of him?

I always wanted to believe that CJ had good hands, but truth is they were absolute bricks. He dropped numerous short and easy passes, including some screens.

The only reason he had a lot of catches was because we would force the ball his way because we wanted to get him in open space as often as possible.

Lots of catches ≠ Good Hands

I'm saying his top potential. Sharpe runs good routes and has really good hands. This guy can't get open against good corners

If all of that's true then why was the QB rating a 77 whenever he was targeted? He has good hands when he's open, but he struggles to get separation and fight through traffic. He struggles to make contested catches and he struggles the most to get yards after the catch.

yeah sharpe does run good routes and has good hands, that doesn't instantly mean taylor doesn't. Sharpe isn't nearly as quick out of breaks as taylor, he has height, thats about it.

Fastest cone drill among receivers. 6.57... thats an INSANE time for a WR.
Christian mccafrey had the same time. That's also as fast as every RB and WR since 2011. Patriots have been known to go after smaller receivers with fast cone drill times for a reason. When you're that quick and have 32 5/8 wingspan at 5'11. Good luck stopping that all game, his measurables are are great regardless of what school he's from.
