The statement was he was in experienced at corner, I proved that already. It's called reading comprehension, all your pointing to his games logs. That's your whole argument. His play does not justify his one year of okay production, again you are wrong sir. You can't back up anything you say, it's laughable.

Funny because I never mentioned Adoree as ONLY a cb, you clearly have blinders on as to part of the reason he was drafted: return duties.

unlike Dodd, the Adoree pick has multiple areas of experience, one of which you refuse to acknowledge.

I fully acknowledged him experienced as a returner, but he was drafted to ba a corner 1st. Does his returner experience really justify him be a first rounder? What does his game tape say as a corner? I'll be waiting. Oh wait I'm just grasping at straws again, damn. Can't win, because all you got is he's experienced. That's all that matters.

Even if he busts as a cb, he's is very likely to maintain his dominance as a return man.

Is that alone worth a 1st round pick? No. But it is the reason why teams were willing to take that chance. High chance of an ROI even if it is just ST. So again, the experience checkmark is relevant. We can add Adoree to a seperate outlier list, "High ceiling risks"

That can coexist with the experience outlier. But stating Adoree has as little experience as dodd did coming in, is false.

Lol go ahead and Pat yourself on the back, you clearly won with your superior logic and vague statements that you twist anyway you think will make you win an argument . Your right Adoree logged X amount of games at CORNER clearly making him experienced at the position when he ran track in the spring and spilt practice time on offense, defense and special teams. That clearly allowed him to refine his Cornerback technique. That is clearly the only thing that matters to JRob in drafting a player. I never once stated one is more experienced then the other, only used Adoree as another outlier to the model. Guys like Conklin and Davis logged meaningful experience, turn on the tape.

Fair point except Adoree does check off a lot of those boxes and I think the calculation is that he's raw but an elite athlete so he CAN become a #1 CB and in the mean time, we get a dynamic returner, at least a nickel right away and in special games, maybe we get him a few touches to give us a spark. So the raw-ness is a point, but the floor isn't as low and the ceiling is pretty high and he'll make an instant impact on special teams from day 1.

Clearly, we expect to win some games with our special teams this year so this solves two problems with one dynamic and experienced player.

Wouldn't you prefer a CB to have a good chunk or most of his INT's to come his last season in college? That's a plus.

We all know we played a lot of man last year and he's better at zone (so far). But no one knows if we will again play a ton of man or switch to a more zone heavy scheme since I think our secondary as a whole would do better in a zone or zone blitz scheme.

To some extent yes, he's a boom or bust prospect as the 18th pick in the draft, but he's unlikely to bust lower than an excellent return guy who is a solid nickel. That's too rich for me for that production level (Switzer is a good slot wr and excellent punt returner available in round 4 I believe) but he does have some athleticism and room to improve to have a shot at becoming a true #1 cb in the Verett mold. So it's not like he's gonna be a #1 cb or he's out of the league.

Terrible on short passes, 80% completion rate on slants. Where is this info from? (Please don't say PFF) There is so much more to determine than simply a completion percentage rate. For instance, cb X gives up an 80% completion rate but in 80% of those completions, they came on 3rd down and he tackled them short of the sticks to force a punt. While the stat looks bad, that's good football. Now that's just an example. We'd need to know a lot more info than 1 number to determine if this is meaningful, good or bad, down and distance, coverage type, # of rushers vs wr's, blah blah blah!

If he played 3 years, how does he not have experience?

First, he's not inexperienced at cb since he has played in 36 games? Your next point will be he didn't solely focus on defense and ran track in the offseason. Would you rather have a guy who spent his offseason training but didn't play in games or a guy with 36 starts? Which has more experience? Cuz it sounds like you're arguing a guy with 36 starts has little experience which is factually incorrect.

You can argue how good or bad he is, but that is not what the point was about (what is JRob's model and how Dodd is an outlier). I have no problem with you thinking Jackson is a bit of an outlier as well but in a very different way.

Dodd is a one year wonder with a foot injury and is not a great fit with our current defense. You can argue (and have) that Jackson isn't a great fit as he is raw in man and we played mostly man. But we can change to playing more zone coverage a lot easier than switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 to improve Dodd's fit.

As I said before, Jackson's floor is probably as a dynamic return guy who is a solid nickel. As seen with the emphasis on special teams in free agency, Jackson's special teams impact is expected to be a given and help us win the special teams battle in virtually every game!

Dodd's floor is not playing on this team.
