His medicals scare me too. They are chronic and reoccurring dating back to high school. Plus he pulled it again at the combine. I'm not drafting a CB at five with a history of hamstring issues and one healthy season.

He strained his calf at the combine. And still broke the record with it not feeling 'right.'

I'm talking about Lattimore but still if you wanna go back to Ross look at his injury history and then couldn't even run a 40 without pulling up in nothing but compression gear no pads. IDC if he can break the forty yard dash record if he can't stay on the field. Oh and guess what he did after the combine, shoulder surgery.

I'd still pass on him. What's the chance he doesn't strain it in a NFL game!?

And why do we want a deep threat when our "noodle arm QB" can't throw over 20 yards? Not my words btw

I don't care if he strains his calf at the combine. Are their other players like Fosters, Hooker, etc you're dropping for having shoulder surgery? Cody Davis who missed the combine workouts and senior bowl with an ankle injury?

Or this only applies to a guy who hurt his knees 2 and 3 years ago? Didn't Ross play 14 games this year and was incredibly productive and explosive?

He played 14 games last year. A lot of guys overtrain for the combine (pull something during the exercises) and coming out of the combine. That's why we see so many wr's and cb's have hamstring and knee problems in TC or shortly into the season.

It's really up to the Doc's as to his long term health. If they drop him off the board completely or a round or so, it's due to the medical staff, not the GM. obviously, someone thought Jaylon Smith was worth a gamble and that was KNOWING he couldn't play as a rookie. Myles Jack fell to round 2 due to a possibly recurring knee issue so it wouldn't shock me if Ross fell, but I don't think he gets much farther than that if that at all. He can step in and really help from Day 1 as a KR and a wr.

So who's saying our qb has a noodle arm? He threw it well over 20 yards a lot last year!!!

I don't know why this is so ****ing difficult to grasp the difference between acute and chronic injuries.

If you want guys who put together one healthy season then that is on you I'm just glad you're not our GM and I'm hoping his mindset is far removed from yours.

    What's my mindset....reality?

So I take it you're firmly against Lattimore, Ross, Hooker and any other guy with one healthy season of work in college, correct? That will knock out 10-20% of the guys off your board. Can you tell us all the medical guys you are either knocking off your board completely or dropping x number of rounds? Is Ross even on your board or would you take him off completely? Is he worth a 3rd round pick? 5th? 7th?

John Robinson nor I are medical doctors. As far as medical situations with players, that is on the medical staff to determine what they realistically expect. Scouts aren't doctors either so the medical staff handles that side of the evaluation which is why Jaylon Smith and John Ross are off some teams boards or dropped a round or so. The GM doesn't decide that, the medical staff does.

On the other hand, some people act like him straining his calf running a 40 in the combine means he can't get on an NFL field and actually make it thru a single game. Just pointing out that he just played 14 games straight.

I don't believe I said I'd take Ross at 5 or 18, did I? Like Jaylon Smith, someone will take a shot at him in round 1 or 2.

I think that was two guys in love with Browning (until Browning didn't play as well in the 2nd half) who didn't want Mariota in the first place. One of them I had running debates with leading up to the draft in which we took Mariota.
