Often hear that this guy does not have a great motor, and the effort is not there. I remember McShay saying this guy has top 10 talent on some plays, but others he looks like he shouldn't even get drafted. He does not seem like a good fit at all for what we are trying to implement on the team

I think McDowell and Foster are a couple of the guys who fall on draft day.

What? They are both solid, we don't need to be spending 1st round picks on DEs when we have glaring holes elsewhere.

McShay is a bit of tool though.

And we all know he can't have a great motor, that is only reserved for certain players.

With a roster of hard working, high character, good leader front seven guys like Casey, Morgan, Orakpo, etc the Titans locker room is ideal for him.

McDowell looks like he could be another Warren Sapp or Ray Lewis -- guys who slipped because of "Motor" concerns that were overstated.

If he slips to 18, we gotta think about it.

Those guys were consistently great players in college. McDowell was not.

He was not that far off. Also he was misused in college. They had him playing NT a lot because they did not have anyone else who could do it. I think it says a lot that a guy who is 6'6" and 290 lbs can rock NT against top interior OL like he did. Get him away from NT to the 3 and 5 tech and let him go.
