I would think if we are falling any more than 5 spots, we'd be getting more than just a 2nd rounder. Last year, Cleveland went from 8 to 15 and claimed last year's 3rd and this year's 2nd. While it's true that future picks are worth less, so a 2nd thus year is worth much more than a 2nd next year, the 5th pick this year is also worth considerably more than the 8th pick was last year.

I would think if we trade down with the Saints the trade looks like this:

Saints get No. 5, and No. 83.

    Titans get No. 11, No. 32, 2017 5th rounder, 2018 3rd rounder

It might take one of those "shake up" picks that cause a "move up panic" to get teams to call. I bet there are teams already feeling out JRob but won't move until the draft. Do you think JRob would trade a current player off our roster to gain a 2nd rounder? If so, who would do we have that teams would make such an offer for? The only one I can think of would be Derrick Henry and I would hate to lose him.

Honestly besides Mariota, Lewan, Conklin and Casey, we don't have a player that would be worth trading a 2nd rnder for. So don't get your hopes up on trading a player for a 2nd rnd pick.

If we are able to trade out of the 5 spot it won't happen until we are on the clock.

As the title states, not hard to create. You should just get one.

Yeah I have my numbers off. Thanks for catching that.

I had a lot of numbers flying around and I was posting in a rush.

Interesting. I don't see it happening with us though. Lots of good player value in mid and back end of 1st round. I'm hopeful that folks panic and there is a run of QB's going too early like happened in 2011 with Locker, Bortles and the kid that went to Minnesota. If the Brown's were smart they'd trade up with us, keep their #33 to trade into 1st round again.

I think all this talk is simply going to drive up the value of the QB's. It would be a free for all if Chicago went QB at #3. OMG would that be awesome. Our phone would be ringing and we'd rake it in if that happened. I still put the Browns atop the QB needy teams likely to trade with us, then Buffalo then NO all to get ahead of the Jets. Then Jets have to go QB with that #6 and we'd be sitting pretty in the 10-12 spot. That'd be awesome if it went that way.

I’m convinced that Trader Jon is going to have the opportunity to trade out of the #5 spot.

Assuming the Browns take Garrett #1, I think they know they’ll need to get ahead of the Jets at #6 in order to get Trubisky.

And the Jets may have to jump up to #5 to guarantee the Titans don’t trade with the Browns.

Obviously, this assumes Trubisky gets by San Francisco and Chicago which, IMO, give the Titans a great shot at getting a top defensive player as Thomas, Adams and Lattimore slide.

It also assumes these two teams like Trubisky. I think the opinions swing wide on whether or not he’s worthy but I never thought we’d seen Wentz go #2 last year and you know the Browns are still kicking themselves over that trade.

If Cleveland moves to #5, the Titans get #12 which, IMO, puts them in O.J. Howard/Mike Williams/Reuben Foster territory. The Titans would also get #33 which puts them in a great spot.

If the Jets move up to #5, it could cost them #6 and possibly #70. That might be asking too much but the Jets don’t have a fourth-rounder so it could end up being a 2018 third-round pick. The Titans could make that trade knowing they’d still get their guy.

The other guy that might make teams want to move to #5 is Fournette. If he somehow sneaks past the Jags at #4, there's going to be a host of teams, Carolina in particular, who would love to come get him.

I'm not as big on Fournette just because I don't think the value at RB is nearly what it is for QB.

Teams know they have to have a quality QB just to compete in today's NFL. Dallas proved you can wait and find quality but more desperate franchises are willing to do whatever it takes.

Do we think Gabbert is the long-term answer in San Francisco? I can't imagine they do so they may be temped to take Trubisky as well. And we know the Bears need one too.

It's very possible that Trubisky and Watson are both gone by pick #3 if the Browns take Garrett #1.

I personally don't see it. But, again, I never saw it last draft either.
