I saw Tajae get a lot more attention from Ds we faced as the hype built up. You could argue that he couldn't get open but if you watched closely you'd see he was blanketed. And when he would get open Marcus would miss him. Not dumping on Marcus just saying he over and underthrew a lot of balls.

I believed the hype that Tajae had what it takes to be a star and I still believe it. I don't think he needs to put on a lot of weight but he definitely needs to add muscle and strength. He's already plenty fast and I expect him to really step it up in year 2.

I'd say the media was hyping up Tajae just as much.

I knew not to buy in... I tempered my expectations way down. I think I said I'd be extremely happy if he ended up with 500 yards and 4 TDs. He came somewhat close to that.

I think he did better than most rookie 5th round WRs would. I can't complain.

He'll never be more than a #3 WR though. And that's fine. Usually can't expect more from a 5th round pick.

You must be referring to me when I post "better than Tajae Sharpe" when there is a discussion about a WR.

And once again, it's because I spent a whole offseason seeing the media and people on this board build him up as a future #1, giving him comparisons to top NFL receivers, talking about how he never drops passes and such an advanced route runner coming out of college.

Yet we got a guy who couldn't win 1v1 matches, only got open when he was schemed open with pick routes or blown coverages and assignments. Dropped passes, and by the middle of the season teams realized if you jammed him he would be rendered useless. Kendall Wright who missed games and when he did play, wasn't even on the field half the time as him almost had the same amount of production.

I honestly think he is a 4th WR at best, maybe a serviceable 3rd. He has no business going into this season being one of our 2 starting outside WRs.

Since I went through a whole offseason of so much hype, I'll spend this offseason reminding people that he is easily upgradable.

My biggest knock on him is being puny, too skinny. He's like a taller, slower, punier version of Desean Jackson.

picking 2 then 1 tends to make fans focus on the rookies cause the not-rookies are without a doubt pretty real turrible
