Well considering there will also be 2-3 free agency periods between now and then....

    Lewan
    Mariota
    Conklin
    Casey

Free agents like Trumaine Johnson, Clowney, Khalil Mack, Sammy Watkins, LeVeon Bell, KaWann Short, Melvin Ingram... all of these guys can be FA's in the next 2 years.

We have stayed 25 plus million under the cap since Bud died starting to look cheap not Frugal to me anyway. Not to mention the constant raising of ticket prices.

Lewan and Mariota. I said those 2 would probably command a good amount of money.

Conklin just finished his rookie year. 3 years + an additional year for his 5th year option, which if things keep going like they are, he won't be re-upped for 4 years.

Casey I could see wanting around possibly wanting 10 million.

Also my question was who on this team was gonna command big money, since everyone's got the idea that we're gonna have all this talent to resign, which there are currently only 3 logical ones and 1 maybe if the team for some reason declines the option.

Also sitting on money for future FA's makes no sense either. That list you gave also includes players that aren't even going to hit the market, that aren't even a need, or they're going to command crazy money.

But I'll entertain the idea of these players you mentioned we would target for big money.

I could see Mack and Clowney getting or wanting blockbuster $100 million deals. (Cause that's the price for elite level pass rushers). And with JRobs track record, he isn't going to throw money around like that.

Not saying there has been a player worthy of that money. But if he didn't go after Norman last off-season (considering CB has been a clear need for this team for years, and the best player in FA) and he didn't want to pay big for Bouye and instead brought in Ryan for a lesser deal, what makes anyone think he is gonna throw mad money at Trumaine Johnson? Also if this team goes CB round one, not gonna happen.

Kawaan Short? He's probably gonna ask for Brandon Williams type money. He didn't want to give it to Brandon Williams, why would he give it to Kawaan Short?

Running backs? You clearly see how much of an impact they've made on the market this year, or lack there of. No they're not Le'veon Bell caliber, but that goes back a player I think probably won't hit the market. If he does, this team just spent a 2nd rounder on DH who they are high on. Think they will throw money at a running back next offseason when you have one with starters ability on rookie deal? Doubtful.

Watkins. Hindered by injuries and inconsistent play. If he doesn't pick it up, wouldn't be surprised if he ended up taking one of those 1 year deals like Jeffery, Pryor, Smith. JRob didn't offer them one of those contracts, and WR is a need. Why would he throw money at Watkins or even offer a 1 year, $8 million deal to him if he didn't do it to these guys? Also, he may very well go WR 1st round this year. If that's the case, guy will be on a rookie deal.

It's clear what JRobs approach is. Use FA to fill holes for depth and positions you feel you won't be able to adequately fill in the draft. Grow your own talent and when it comes down to it, you pay your talent.

But since Ruston did such an awful job with drafting, this team doesn't have any home grown talent worth giving money to, or even re-signing at all for that matter. That is why this team had the 3rd most amount of cap space in the entire NFL. A 9-7 group that sucked in its own division, that still only missed the playoffs by just one game.

JRob has a short window to be able to sign elite talent asking for big money to improve this team. If JRob is even half the God half this fan base makes him out to be, then by the time those contracts are up, or hit the back end of their deals, Robinson's draft classes will just then be up for new deals. So it would work out to pay someone now or even next season in FA without sacrificing not being able to sign at most probably 4 guys on this current roster who are going to be in for a payday.

Teams that win SB's: draft well, grow their talent, resign all their key players, and trade/sign excellent value picks (Murrey/Jones/Rishard).

They don't go out and try to sign Big Al... Or some 1 year CB for top dollar... Or throw away a first rounder for Cooks who was part of a profillic O in NO

Saying that, gaping holes still remain at WR and CB, and i thought we'd address them better. I would have taken Jeffery for that 1 year deal. And I very much like Logan, but we needed another CB.

I was simply naming players who will potentially be FA, and some of those players we might actually be interested in signing. I'm sure I can find plenty more if you would like.

But saying "JR didn't sign Pryor so why would he sign Watkins?" is short sighted. Every situation is different. Eveey FA is different and every player is different.

How do you know what we offered Bouye, Williams, Hightower, and others? Please explain how you know what the Tennessee Titans offered them to come here. So you can't just write off the fact that we didn't sign someone this year as a sign we will never sign anyone. Espeically when we don't know what was or wasn't offered!!!

I can and will use it as a sign because in two Free Agencies, Robinson hasn't shelled out big money for a marquee guy. It's my opinion of the guy so far.

He himself has said you build your team through the draft and use the Free Agency to acquire depth and fill holes you likely won't be able to in the draft.

So even having the 3rd most cap space in the entire league, I fully expected FA to go this route.

That's fine, he can do it that way. Just means he is going to have to nail his drafts.

And its free agency, 9/10 whatever a player gets paid, the other suitors were offering less.

Yep and statistically speaking that is the correct way to build a team. History proves this.

We could have been 5 million less though... could have been 30. That's the part we don't know. That's why you can't say "well he didn't sign this guy so why would he sign that guy?"

They don't have anyone to resign because all of their drafted players suck.

Couldn't agree more...what's the purpose of saving cap when players like Hightower, jeffrey, bouye were available to address needs?
