on average youre looking at 5-6 in the 1st, and another 4-5 WR's in the 2nd, depending whos board youre looking at youre likely going to miss on anyone worthwhile if you wait til the 3rd

I dont think Godwin, Stewart, or Kupp last til the 3rd

we need WR help too badly to try to get cute and stall on taking one, just take one early and fill out the roster

Defense first round, strength in the middle. FA CB and WR. 3rd round NB and TE.

I really love this class. We should make out like bandits.

I guess I'm just as not as down on our current WR group. We need someone to replace Wright in the slot more than anything.

Also, you're way over estimating the amount of WR going in the first round. There are 2, maybe 3 first rounders if John Ross runs a fast 40. There's maybe 5 guys that would go in the 2nd. I mean hell, Walter's latest Mock has us taking Dede Westbrook with our second 3rd rounder, after taking OJ Howard at #18.

That'd make me one helluva happy camper!

I'll be honest. I really like the depth at TE this year. I really wonder if taking a TE in the 1st is a good idea. We need both of our 1st round picks to contribute this year IMO. I do not know if Mularkey will be able to adjust his system to having the 2nd TE be more than a blocker. Walker is going to be the focus of TE passes. We know that. Mularkey has been very stubborn about playing Henry more. I fear taking a TE in the 1st, just to watch him sit on the bench.

I can see how it would benefit the team & create a great duo at the position. I just really struggle with weather or not Mularkey will actually use the guy. If he will use a 2nd TE in the way the Patriots did with Gronk & Hernandez; then I can see it taking our offense to another level. I just hate the idea of seeing a 1st round guy not utilized. Especially when we have needs we could address and utilize with one of the picks.

Yeah as much as I love Howard & Njoku, TE in the 3rd or 4th is the way to go. Jake Butt, Jordan Leggett, Gerald Everett or Bucky Hodges can be had there. Evan Engram is a 2nd round pick tho.

Yeah I think he climbs as people dig deeper into his film.

He has some insane hands. He was making circus catch after circus catch in the Rose bowl.

We have someone to replace wright in the slot. Tajae sharpe. What we need is someone on the outside opposite Matthews.

Well the only reason I said that was because Sharpe played and practiced on the outside all of 2016. I think he was in the X, which is next to the slot, and Matthews was in the Z outside the TE in 3 WR sets. I don't remember him in the slot that much. It was usually Wright, Douglas, or Walker flexing out to the slot.

If the coaches want to move Sharpe to the slot, then that's fine. He'd probably make a pretty good one. Like you said, we'd just need an outside receiver then.

well we know Sharpe isnt at his best tied to the line, so slide him inside to slot where hed have a little extra space to get going

hes pretty weak so anyone can just jam him if hes lined up on the line..

Yeah, I'd really like this. Sharpe has good hands and runs clean routes.

That's like every QB's dream for a good slot guy: get open, catch the damn ball, and move the chains.
