Which was bound to happen, which is why we got him so late

Exactly. Most late rounders don't last long anyways. Can't fault the pick IMO

Sometimes with those guys it works out better (Bo Scaife) and sometimes worse (Markelle Martin). I agree, I am cool with rolling the dice. Anyone taken on the third day is a crap-shoot anyway.

both have great football awareness and versatility. ragland is a bigger player but can cover pretty well. however, i think the explosion and violence that foster brings puts him at another level. i think foster sheds blocks better too.

foster's biggest downside is that he gets a little reckless in his aggression, but that doesn't bother me too much because he's on point more often than not and that aggression is what is going to create the big plays this defense needs. he has strong recovery skills for a linebacker too.

like i've said a million times in here, foster's best ability imo is his ability to snuff out and blow up plays to the flats. screen, swing pass, qb scramble... he has a nose for TFLs

And aggression is something he can improve on with discipline and good coaching

The guy can flat put out fires, and sniff things out. Very football smart. Again, the only knock is he can't man up against a guard, but who the hell cares? We even run Casey on stunts, so no biggie. This guy would be a gamechanger. He would bring some real attitude to the D. He can also cover TE's if necessary. I would hate if we missed him, but with his talent he may go very high.

I feel like the opportunity to trade that top 6 pick will be pretty great. If we could trade back to mid teens while picking up a '17 second+ something for the future, grab Davis or Buddha Baker and the best remaining Cb.. return in the second to take one of the Tes.

I feel like 5-6 is a pass rusher area (maaaaybe Foster.) expect 1-2 QBs to be pushed up so top 3-4ish player available possibly

If we trade back from 5 to even low teens we could get a 2nd round pick THIS year depending on what they have an the maneuvering to get it. I think I mocked out a trade back from 5 to 11 as well as our 4th round pick for a fairly high 2nd (don't remember exactly where but around top 10 of round 2 I think). Trade from 5 to say 14 and you can easily get a 2nd, perhaps a late pick added in too.

I think we may see more edge rushers go in round 1 than in a long time. Matching teams to QB's will go a long way in determining how many go in the top 5 and how many 'fall.' If each team that needs a QB has a favorite and that favorite is available, we could see as many as 3 go. But if the Niners keep Kelly and he wants Kizer and Kizer isn't there, they may go somewhere else and come back to QB in round 2 (which will mean at the end of round 1 because I could also see the Browns possibly using this strategy too to not over pay for a QB.

Just hope none of the top teams needing a QB get Romo!
