Hester is old and broken down.

If it came to that, I'd rather have an aging T.O. than Hester.

I think your arguing for the sake of arguing, which is fine (I will play along).

I didn't bring up Mariani's stats because I am arguing against him, not for him. I displayed Hester's stats because the person who dismissed the notion of bringing him (Hester) on board stated that he had 5 fumbles and failed to mention that he only lost 1 fumble. I used Tyreek Hill as an example because I think he is the best returner in the game currently. Now that you mentioned Mariani's stats, I will address them by saying for as many fair catches as he calls, he shouldn't have any fumbles.

Why would you bring up ST penalty stats against the Titans? What does that have to do with wanting to acquire a better (in my opinion) returner. I seriously don't understand this logic at all.

Being a great returner means you will take risks and chances that an average returner (Mariani) won't take.

Is he still the Hester from 10 years ago, No. But he is better than what we currently have.

Mariani also doesn't help things because he doesn't advance the ball. To your point, with our offense we need as much help as possible. Good returns help us more than fair catches.

Only problem with Adoree is that he isn't a #1 cornerback (too small).

If we sign someone like Trumaine Johnson in the offseason (to be our #1), then draft Adoree I would be okay with it.

I believe he is going to slide in the draft because of his size.

    1) Of course. Only bring your points to the argument.

    2) He's fumbling 5 times, the accidental result of only 1 being lost is not something that should be gambled when you have a more sure handed guy already.

    3) I agree Hill is the league's best, but to use him when neither Hester or Mariani are even close to his level makes his stats irrelevant in the argument. Flat out, he's not available.

    4) Just so we're clear on the stats, Mariani 18 FC, Hester 15, Mariani 23 PR, Hester 25. Pretty close to even but how does the rest of the ST factor in? I guess for as many FC as Hester has, he also shouldn't fumble.

    5) I've seen a lot of Tennessee ST penalties and returns called back. Not sure if its above or below a league avg or how much it's effected Mariani's #'s, but if they get called for a lot of penalties, any WOW factor the returner has, could very well be negated by penalties.

    6) As I stated previously, taking risks does not equate to more fumbles as Hester of old proved. Mariani is tied for #3 KR att and #6 in PR att, I think he's trying to take his chances, he's just not very good and probably not the rest of the ST blockers either. Still better than Hester though. Don't think it's that close either.
