lol....I have been racing all my life. You don't have to explain it to me. It always comes down to weight per horsepower. Of course a car weighing 1500 pounds with more HP is going to be faster and corner better. I get it. Just saying there is technology in all forms of motorsports, even drag racing. There was a story a few years ago about a guy in Comp Eliminator (a class based on pounds per cubic inch displacement - so naturally you want the most efficient motor you can find). He did over 550 dyno pulls before he got it right, and tore up 9 motors while doing it.

Money and tech talks and walks in F1.

Mercedes is the big dog right now. It goes in cycles.

The 2nd best team is Red Bull and they run Renault engines.

INDY and CART are no longer split. That was a while ago.

The INDY series is very entertaining now. It is fantastic racing again and it is growing quickly.

Rumors of European manufacturers jumping back into INDY are REAL.

The yellow flag does that too.

And on some of those tracks there are just WAY too many cars. The worst track, sorry to say, is the one in Tennessee. A half mile banked oval with that many cars is just ridiculous.

I think the best races though are at the big flat(flatter) ovals like Michigan and California. Too many races at those 1.5 mile banked ovals that all look the same (Texas, Charlotte, Atlanta, etc).

The road courses should go too (Watkins Glenn and Sears Point). Watching those cars on road courses is just boring.

Would be cool to see NASCAR on the Milwaukee Mile and Saint Louis Speedway.

Of all motorsports this has and will continue to always blow my mind.

TOP FUEL DRAGSTER FAST FACTS - Super Coupe Club of Iowa

It is something to see. TV does not do it justice like most racing.

Let's be honest. Other than F1, it's all just a show now. Most every sanctioning body has rules and limitations on what you can do. They have even toned down F1 in some ways with the aerodynamic packages. Indy has to run a certain amount of laps on a certain tire, push to pass, etc. Choreographed.

You can't imagine what is like unless you go in person. There are people that go just to get their "fix" of the smell of Nitro. My brother in law took his kids to Memphis and they watched Top Fuel qualifying, and this was when they ran the 1/4 mile. So his kids, 8 and 10, watched their first pass. The noise, speed and smell was overwhelming. The cars ran 325 mph, with flames 8 feet high. The kids couldn't get their mouths closed...lol.
