We just barely beat a 4th string QB making his first career start who shredded us in the 2nd half despite his WRs having 9 drops (including the game-winning touchdown). Now is not the time to try and defend this unit. Oh, and we had 0 sacks and like only 4 QB hurries. Abysmal.

I'm not defending them. They suck..... no doubt. No pressure and they couldn't cover me. But they aren't the worst in the league. Mularky l hope learned something today. Keep the gas on. He got conservative and shouldn't have with this defense.

-If I have an irrational love for Lane Kiffin on Saturday's then it's the direct opposite with Mularkey on Sundays. This guy has no idea what he's doing and he's being bailed out by Mariota making big plays and our OL playing well as a unit. We score 21 points in the 1st half thanks to Marcus Mariota making big throws, spreading out the defense but actually having more than a couple receiving threats on the field at once, and Derrick Henry with a couple huge runs. The 2nd half? Direct opposite. Mularkey has no idea what to do when Murray struggles to make plays. Playcalling reminded me of the San Diego game.

-The only way we're going to win any remaining games this season is if we have a pass rush. Ours was basically nonexistent today and Matt freaking Barkley carved us up once he settled in. The Bears had like 9 drops as well, could have been a lot worse. We don't have another solid CB outside of Jason McCourty. Cox is not good, McCain is too inconsistent, Blake is garbage, and you can't rely on late round draft picks at this point.

-Loved the Rishard Matthews signing over the offseason. Thought we got him on a good deal and he was underrated in Miami due to the WR position being so crowded last season. He comes here, gets through an early season rough stretch, and has totally balled out over the past few weeks. Clutch catches, numerous touchdowns, great hands, and he is running crisp routes.

-Speaking of the WR position, it would be nice to see Kendall Wright actually play. It's going to be frustrating to see him do well somewhere else next year because we refuse to have 3 WR sets. I don't get it.

-Marcus Mariota is playing on an unreal level and yet he only gets 25 pass attempts today and we totally shut down the offense in the 2nd half. If we actually had someone calling plays that knows how to use talent or actually make adjustments, his numbers would be even better. Mularkey is stubborn, Robiskie is clueless, and we better be careful because starting next year we're officially on the clock when it comes to using this kind of talent we have at QB to start winning meaningful and big games. We can not waste Mariota because of horrible coaching.

He WAS a problem!!! You see him going to a Pro Bowl this year? Me either.

Just because we replaced him with avg players doesn't make you right, just the need for upgrading with better talent.

I haven't watched the game yet but kept up with the scores in the first half. Looked like we were gonna roll to an easy win. Then I saw the final score and thought...uh oh....something bad happened!!! Like Mariota got hurt, we lost 2 offensive lineman, something of that nature since the Bears are really bad. Then I'm thinking maybe they got a couple of hail mary's and an onside kick (got that one right).

And then I watched the highlights. Great offense in the first half. Then watched Howard carving up our D. Then the onside kick and the Bears comeback. Sickening to watch what looked like 2 winning scores both dropped!!!

TJ said it right, we just couldn't snatch defeat from the Jaws of Victory because the Bears wanted the loss just a little bit more!!!

Went from feeling it wasn't a big win but we held on to feeling really sick that by all rights we should have lost this game. Can't remember who said it...I think about the Lions game...but something about us NEEDING wr's to drop TD passes for us to win and not have our D look so bad statistically!!! This was the definition of that.

So our problem is, when our front 7 doesn't get pressure, our secondary really gets exposed. And for some reason, we don't do what we were built to do on shortyardage...POUND THE ROCK!!! You have a run blocking OL, a very good 260lb FB to lead for a 260lb running back! WHERE IS OUR POWER RUN GAME on short yardage?

I'll be curious to see what our offense was doing in the second half and why they were so ineffective after the first half success. I'll be cringing thru watching our defense and see whats going on there!

But we did win and I got tix to Star Wars opening night...so all is not lost!

That d today was the worst I have ever seen....no pressure...fatass and company were totally over matched...the secondary looked clueless....
