I disagree. Next year would. We have too many pressing needs that are more important. OT, CB, FS, DT, WR and OLB are more important. Maybe a late rounder.

I can give you OT/DB as a higher priority. However, a rookie isn't coming in and starting over Orakpo, Morgan, Casey, Jones. The rest of the positions you listed are depth positions, which can be taken in the later rounds. A rookie receiver is going to have a hard time even getting playing time above Wright, DGB, and Matthews.

Book it...We take a TE somewhere...Lucky for us, Jrob isn't a push over and calling the shots. Mike Mularkey isn't calling this draft, and you can take that to the bank. As for depth...our TE's suck ballz....Outside of Walker, not a damn one of them is a good receiving TE or able to be a guy with a spark either next to or without Walker. I would be fine taking a TE this year in the 3rd or after...Like I said, I would argue we need a quality TE more so than WR. At least we have DGB and Matthews and an average KW. At TE we have Walker who is 32, and Stevens who is a glorified linemen. We need another guy for 2 TE sets, depth, and as a safety check down for Marcus. Let Walker groom them.

Perhaps it would be better to go WR and take some of the heat off Walker ? His workload last year was ridiculous because our WR corps stank.

Too many holes this year ; would love an early pick on one next year for grooming by Delanie.

And to plug my own draft picks there is a guy out of Stamford called Devon Cajuste that I really like as a WR/H-Back with really solid hands and scale , 6-4 and 240 I think , that's an interesting tweener prospect that could take some of the TE work and ... offer other options.

We are going to draft a TE somewhere. J-Rob has shown some interest.

I would like to give LaQuan McGowan a shot as an undrafted free agent. If that guy dropped weight in an NFL conditioning program, he could be a nice find. Amazing hand to be that large. With the weight loss his movement would increase and with his strength he could bully any LB out and get position on the ball. He is a project but if hungry to succeed he could even work his way into the starting lineup in a couple of years. He is the kind of player that would need to be planed for and change how a D plays against us. Plus a crack block from a 300lb+ TE would keep anyone honest. I think he is about 410lbs right now, yikes.

If we don't take Henry or Hooper on day 2, it'll be Stephen Anderson on day 3.

I agree we should go TE at some point. The talent behind Walker is pathetic. A young solid TE would help Mariota huge.

Everybody keeps talking about us having too many holes like we're going to fill every one this offseason. You take the best player. I'm not taking the #10 OT cause it fills a need when the #2 TE is on the board and ranked higher. That's how you stay a bad team.
