You missed the whole point of my post, but yes obviously no one knows how it will play out.

Johnson won’t be around to team up with Peterson for his sixth year. Instead, Johnson will be wreaking havoc in the Tennessee Titans’ secondary next season, after he signed with them for one season.

“Oh, (I’m) definitely sad that Rashad’s (Johnson) leaving us,” Peterson said. “It was a pleasure playing beside him, and watching him grow, and I’m quite sure it was the same for him, watching me grow as well. (It was exciting) just to see the level of success that he’s reached over the last three years, because the guy’s played phenomenal football, leading the team in interceptions the last two years (nine total), damn near in tackles too (151 tackles total in 2014-15), (and) being an all-around guy for us, and being a true, true soldier, losing a finger tip (lost tip of left middle finger vs. New Orleans Saints in 2013), (and) battling injuries week in and week out. The guy was a true, true warrior. He’ll definitely be missed, and I wish him nothing but the best with the Tennessee Titans.”

Patrick Peterson's thoughts on Johnson. Like I said earlier, he's certainly not the best FS out there but he's definitely an upgrade over Griffin and he brings a great attitude to the team. It certainly helps that he's a ballhawk as well as commanding respect in the locker room.

Football is football and tackling is 90% effort and 10% technique! Ramsey is a very good tackler. I don't need to see him play in the NFL to know that. McCourty has been a good tackler for most of his career. Cox has been suspect. griff was a whiffing machine and Searcy is solid but nothing special.

Do I know anything for a fact based on an opinion? Of course not...just as no one knows for a fact that Tunsil will be a great or even good LT in the NFL I could make the same case that you can't rely on him because he's never played a down in the NFL. But he has a lot of the traits you look for and has a lot of pretty good tape to argue he can get there. ALL of these discussions are opinion based on reasoned logic.

And I've seen Ramsey play a lot. He could be a Patrick Peterson type #1 CB. McCourty nor Cox nor any other DB on the roster looks like a #1 CB, let alone have the potential to be an ELITE #1.

And the POINT really is, he can play CB, S or both! We can move him around the secondary from game to game or even play to play! Play the Pats who's greatest threat is Gronk and you let him play there or double team him from an off position. Play the Texans and he can take Hopkins!

With his versatility, you play him where he makes the biggest impact on each game and on each down! How is that NOT better than Tunsil when Ramsey can elevate the entire D and has no real flaws while Tunsil does in our system AND Tunsil means we need a new RT in 2-3 years...and Ramsey has a MUCH higher floor than Tunsil does...at least for us!

I mostly addressed this in my last response so I won't repost it here. But stop watching highlights...are you seeing the TD's Hargreaves gave up on his highlight reel? They are very misleading! Hargreaves probably only blitzed a handful of times so what else are they gonna show you on a highlight reel? Watch the game film. People didn't throw much at Ramsey and for good reason. If he merely blankets a WR or TE and takes him completely away, that's excellent.

Look at Revis, in Revis' prime, teams would not throw his way...which means you're forcing them to throw it where you can overload the coverage or force the QB to hold the ball an extra second. THOSE things cause turnovers and sacks. Ramsey won't get credit for it on his stats, but taking away the opposing team's best weapon is a major win. We've not only not taken away other teams major weapons, but they've absolutely killed us!!!

Don't limit Ramsey. Let him use his skills and versatility to take away the other teams best weapon or let him free lance on other plays to utilize his playmaking skills (like a bigger Polamalu). Frankly, they can use him either way and it'd be a huge plus for us. Great coverage, tackling, blitzing!!!

It is the point that I have been trying to make. He can play anywhere on anyone. Nice tool to have in your D. On a TE, on the opposing 1, and blitzing. You can't pigeon hole the guy to a position. Thing is, we will see it first hand when we play the Jags most likely.......

Agree to disagree. You're saying that Ramsey will be a Pro-bowler at Corner and FS.

I'll reserve the right to say I told you so.

The funny thing is, I'm preaching FLEXIBILITY in my rebuttals with you and Gut in regards to Ramsey. That's why I'd put him at FS so he can roam the field, cover TEs and be inside on some nickel situations. Not sticking him at Corner and being predictable

I can agree to disagree. Yes, I think Ramsey can be a Pro Bowler at CB or S and he might end up playing both positions in the NFL.

What I don't see you saying or responding to is Tunsil and how he's gonna make us better than us taking Ramsey. I've addressed that he's not a good fit in our run blocking system (and neither is Lewan so having them both will hurt our rushing attack and by extension, our offense) as well as that (what I think is a fact) will leave in 2-3 years so we'll have to address this hole AGAIN!

    Comments? Thoughts?

Isn't that what I said? You can play him at CB, nickel, S...wherever you need him to make an impact play or take away a #1 weapon whether it's a #1 WR or TE or whatever you need.

How does Tunsil make that kind of an impact?

I am not here defending or screaming for Tunsil. I'm fully onboard with us taking Ramsey at 1, I just want him to be our Polamalu/Reed/Thomas/Berry.

All I'm saying Tunsil will do is keep Marcus clean, which makes the Titans dangerous. I'm fully ok with having tackles as Lewan and Tunsil, because we all know that QB is the most important/valuable position in football.

We can survive with a blown coverage or three per game. We aren't doing ANYTHING without a healthy Marcus for 16 games. Nobody's thought of Marcus being our RG3 if we don't keep him protected.
