Ultimate or Ultimate Frisbee. I just learned that this is a real thing with leagues, official rules and everything. Supposedly there are over 5 million people in the US who play Ultimate. My friends and brother and I used to play our own version of this as kids without knowing an actual game existed. We lived really close to the local middle school/old high school who had a football field. We would basically play football but with a Frisbee, maybe making up rules as we went along. I'm going to start up a team in Tennessee if the Titans don't get their **** together soon! Lol Anyway, here are some highlights. Probably not entertaining to watch..but probably pretty fun to play.
The hippies types were playing this way back when I went to college...not leagues but they had a regular game every week.
I think I read the official rules were adopted from college campus games. They even had collegiate games in the 70s. I've heard of Frisbee golf but never knew of organized Frisbee leagues like this. Like I said, may be fun to mess around and play a game with some friends...but not much of a spectator sport and I can't see it being considered as a serious sport to most.
Is smoking weed a pre-requisite to playing Ultimate, or is it just an eventual side effect of the game?
It would still be more entertaining to play. Riding hunched over with a bike seat up your ass for 50 miles or whatever seems horrible.
