What? I'm talking about the Titans PR staff that picks what stories to put out there.

Laying that groundwork for that "Mularkey retained on full time basis" headline.

Its best to wait until it happens before getting upset about it.

Players can like whoever they want. Doesnt mean **** to the front office. They need butts in seats.

I understand that and it would be one thing if this was a source posting the story outside of the organization but it is a piece written and put out there by the actual team.

I hope they're just buttering Mularkey up to maybe keep him around as a positions coach if the new staff wants him. He seems to be respected by the players. I just think there are better coaches out there.

That's my point. We all know that he didn't sustain success, but he did get us to a Super Bowl and no one has since. The main point of referencing him is that he only won one game as interim before he was hired. I am not advocating we hire Mularkey or endorsing Fisher. It just isn't as unreasonable as some people are making it sund to give the guy an interview after stepping in to a hot mess mid-season. In my opinion it is the right thing to do, if anyone disagrees that is fine by me too. This went on longer than I would have thought and I have hit the wall in terms of caring.

Me too as long as there is no way Mularkey stays..... It would be a huge disappointment to have candidates actually calling us & end up keeping a guy who basically continued the downward spiral.

I agree he deserves an interview too but only as a courtesy.

I think it is vital that we do NOT keep Mularkey, even if he is a serviceable coach. We're getting a new GM, a #1 Draft Pick, potentially a new head coach. Keeping the current HC is a sign of stagnation, not revitalization. A new HC is not only a new leadership regime, but it also sends a message that the Tennessee Titans are not okay with being last. And they are going to make some real tangible changes to prevent that from happening yet again.
I'm afraid, even if the Titans nail the draft picks, with Mularkey still at the helm next year we're looking at another 3-4 win season. This team needs a change in culture. A winning coach, with a winning attitude, from a winning team.
