There just wasn't enough improvement to give him the benefit of the doubt. Keeping Mularkey would = ownership ineptitude, and prove that there are just too many Chiefs and not enough Indians in the ownership group. Bud left the Titans with a Soup Sandwich. Should have just named a successor and let the others deal with it.

I'm convinced, with today's offensive playcalling, that we cannot win with offensive staff. The glaring fact that they KNEW Indy blitzes on EVERY 3rd and long, yet never answer it with short slants and crossing routes right behind the blitzing defenders, tells me they don't have a clue. Where are the hot routes? We f-ing know they are coming with a blitz and yet stand in the pocket waiting for receivers to get open downfield = sacked EVERY time!

Whenever Peyton knew a blitz was coming, he always answered by getting the ball out of his hands quickly, to receivers on short passes. He made a living of doing that.

Seriously, do you want any of those guys?

I remember this "hair on fire" phase a couple of years ago, when we rushed around to sign our previous coach. That did not work out so well.

Relax people...there are several good candidates out there, and I would rather do this right more than fast.

Kelly? Yes. Absolutely. I don't give a flip about all the media speculation about Kelly's personality and demeanor as HC. They weren't b!tching about him when they were winning, and that is all I need to know.
All the whiny b!tching came after some key players got cut/traded and some of the players on the team were probably worried about their own jobs. Who cares if Kelly is a good GM? He won't be making those decisions at his next stop. People also seem to forget that Kelly is the ONLY candidate that would allow Mariota to hit the ground running, next season....rather than get set back having to learn yet another new system in less than a one year span.

If he keeps LeBeau and Horton, then only the offense undergoes big (scheme) changes

Ill be honsest, I dont give a flip about Kelly. Hate the eagles, and never watched an Oregon game outside of the playoffs last year. With all tis talk about Mularky staying, Kelly seems like a good option right now LOL. Funny how that works, Id rather have anyone than MUlarky and Webster back.

Ian Rapoport basically just said on NFL Network that the Titans haven't really even started laying the groundwork for a coaching search.

Meanwhile, other teams are already interviewing candidates.

Just laughably incompetent stuff from Titans ownership.

Yeah I heard that also. He also said that the owners like Mularkey (mostly due to his work with MM) so they may decide to keep him.

Must admit, that is discouraging here....and yes, it does show incompetence IMO.

I just find t hard to believe people who know in the organization would say that. I can believe that junior members who are not clued in would say things like that. I actually do know someone in the organization who overheard a discussion about a coach candidate a few weeks ago, so I know they are looking and having at least basic interest level talks. I can not tell you who they are seeking as I do not want the guy to in any way get in trouble. I will say he is a high profile candidate.
