    80s baseball was pretty cool too. The pitcher with one hand, Jose Canseco's wife at the airport in only a fur coat and the 86 Mets.

    My favorite of those was Kevin Mitchell, who was an actual real baddass. Everyone was afraid of him.

    One night Strawberry and another player was over at Mitchell's house. Mitchell was railed on Coke and fighting with his GF. Mitchell grabbed the girl's cat by the neck, held it up and sliced its head off with a kitchen knife.

    Strawberry and the other guy said "we should probably leave" and Mitchell, with the severed cat head in one hand, pointed the knife at them and told them they were not going anywhere. They did not dare leave.

    Mitchell then barricaded the front door with his couch thinking the cops were coming for him. He sat in it, holding the knife, with Strawberry and the other player sitting across from him. Early the next morning he half woke up, smirked at them and told them they could leave.

    I have heard that story before - but strangely it was just recently.
    Mitchell played for The Reds for a while and I saw him play a few times during that stretch. I think he was on the Deon Sanders team that won the most games that year but weren't allowed in the playoffs because of the split season.
