I would absolutely love to have Cooper (obviously) but I have a few issues with the potential pick that a couple other members have touched on.

    - He's not elite in any physical category. He doesn't have elite speed nor elite size. If you're going to spend a top 10 pick on a WR, he needs to be a truly elite guy somehow. But that's just my opinion on drafting a WR that early.

-However, he does a lot of things great. His burst off the line is crazy good. He finds a way to get open, usually catches everything in sight (LSU game was a fluke) and is a very good route runner. He's going to be a good one but top 5 overall someday? Doubt it.

-He has a few nagging injuries. A lot of Alabama players before him battled through injuries all through college and have begun to pay the price in the NFL. Cooper had a few issues last year and has already been banged up quite a bit this year. This season less severe than last but it's something to monitor.

-Last point, we don't really need a WR right now. Still have Wright, not giving up on Hunter yet, Nate, and Delanie. That's enough for Mett or whomever for now. Sure throw in a free agent vet, that's good enough. Unless our OL actually gives our QB time and if our QB could then deliver the ball to the WR, maybe then we consider Cooper.

All this being said, if we trade down for another reason and he's there in the late teen's then it would be hard to not pull the trigger. He's insurance in case Hunter is a total bust and if Hunter magically gets his head out of his butt then Wright just works permanently in the slot and hey we have a nice trio. If we're looking at someone at Alabama, it should be Reggie Ragland or Landon Collins.

Ideal situation is to trade out of the top 10. We have a lot of holes to fill, and I'm tired of picking up other teams leftover scrubs.

I'm not impressed with this years top 10. We are set at LT and drafting a RT in the top 10 is crazy. Beasley has a nice burst, but lack the size at this moment in time. (Will he retain his burst/speed with added weight?) I would probably look hard at Fowler and Oakman. I'm definately considering Cooper with how our receivers are playing.

I also really like Hau'oli Kikaha as a 2nd day pick theres a reason why hes the nation sack leader. Great combination of speed and strength. Watch the CAL game buckles multiple o-lineman to their knees with his inital hit.

    Watkins: 6'1 211 4.31 40-time
    Cooper: 6'1 210 4.39 40-time

Sammy has similar size, speed, and play-style and just went 4th last year.

Washington is a free agent after this year, tossup if we'd resign him. Hunter has been disappointing, but I haven't by any means given up on him.

I agree that I DON'T want a RT picked in the first round...let alone a top 10 pick. Everyone will look hard at Fowler as everyone will expect his measureables to be off the charts (size/speed/athleticism) but he is pretty raw compared to several others. But if he's a legit 6-4 260lbs and can run a 4.5 with a long wingspan and a sub 1.60 10 yd split, he will go in rnd 1 depending on how good everyone else is. But I can already hear mini-Freak comparisons (Kearse).

Kikaha is one of those guys that COULD end up in round 1 or 3 depending on how he looks the rest of the way and measures out and ppl take a closer look at who he was going against for all of those sacks. Some of these guys could also get dinged a bit if they have other DL or pass rushing OLB's opposite them who helped them wrack up sack totals.

Oakman is a huge (literally) Boom or Bust guy. Against weaker comp he can be devastating and looks like JJ Watt. Check him out against TCU and I was disappointed. Not sold he will be a rnd 1 pick unless someone is gambling on his size/speed/athleticism. Then again, they said that about JPP and he turned out pretty good!

I'm a bit nervous that Tommy could pull a Bud and demand they take a QB (because its playoffs and SB in the next 2 years, right?)!

I'm guessing that at the combine Cooper will be shorter than 6-1 and run in the 4.4 range. I don't care what players say. Every year at the combine someone(s) say they are gonna break CJ's 40 time and most of them don't come close. I'll hold off on the comparisons to Watkins til we see his actual measureables.

BUT, if Hunter doesn't get it together and we aren't gonna re-sign Wash and Cooper does put up numbers close to Watkins, he very well COULD be the pick. If he's 6'0 and runs a 4.45, you're gonna have a harder time justifying taking him in the top 5.

If we have a top 5 pick come draft day than I hope Leonard Williams falls to us. We need to get tougher in the trenches, this guy has been nothing but a stud all year. Pass rusher is very deep this year as well.

I haven't watched much tape of Leonard Williams but he doesn't play to his current hype. He's slow off the ball frequently and rarely gets a sack someone else didn't drive to him. Against Arizona State he did nothing in the pass rush the last 5+mins of the game when all they could do was throw. I'm more impressed with his run D as he is smooth getting off blocks...especially against a zone blocking scheme. But not sure he's worth the top pick if he's not a better pass rusher.

Need to see a lot more tape! Maybe it was an off game for him and I know someone said he was battling injuries so...more research needed.

Is playing through an ankle and shoulder injury. Barely practices because of the injuries but come Saturday he is prepared and plays at a high level.

Dante Fowler Jr. is another guy I really like, but #5 would be too early for him.

He's really athletic and his body is NFL ready; one of the very few OLB/DE already at 260 lbs.. If you watch him vs LSU, he has a very good game (11 tck, 1 sack) against a projected 1st round pick in La'el Collins.. He plays all over the field (LE, RE, DT & OLB) for Florida.. A knock on him would be how often he slips into the backfield only for the RB to run right by him; he over pursues there, and just needs to read the game/play better.

I need to watch more tape on him but my initial impressions are he is very athletic for his size and has a real burst but is not very polished. I saw a play where he shot into the backfield so fast it was like the OL was standing still, but he almost ran past the RB and actually kind of knocked him down and not in a tackling kind of way...more like he just happened to run into him.

He will be listed as a first round prospect and shoot up the boards from the combine and UF's pro day because I expect him to put up some eye popping numbers. But he might be a little like a Justin Hunter. has all the athleticism and physical tools...but what happens when he needs to have a repetoire of pass rush moves, not just speed. Can he locate the ball? Can he read the play and his keys? I mention Hunter but an elite pass rusher will go MUCH earlier. I wouldn't be shocked if he went in the top 10 and I wouldn't be shocked if he went towards the top of round 2.

Then again, I need to see more tape on him. That's just my initial reaction to what little I've seen of him.
