You know my concern is this team really needs difference making talent...play makers...We just simply don't have enough to go around of them.

I heard something on Sirius Radio and they were talking about the Colts when the had Peyton. They actually had a drafting model that said, the 1st round pick had to be either someone who touches the ball or can hit the QB. If it wasn't one of those players they could find good talent in later rounds. The more I think about that, the more I think that methodology might hold up...

I'm tired of being middle tier every season!!!

They don't have to wait for the contract to start spending money. A first round pick has no problem securing credit. Teddy Bridgewater bought a new Escalade for his mom the day after being picked . Banks, and others, know the money is coming soon, they are eager to float them some cash up front, to be paid back with interest...

I would have loved it had we drafted Barr. I was pissed when he came off the board as well!

Thats not a bad philosophy to follow, but Lewan was just too good at such a valuable position that we had to pull the trigger.

If Roos wasn't in his final year, we might have done it differently, but LT you have to get right, its the 2nd most critical spot in the NFL after QB.

This is true, but signing them too soon is fuel on the fire.

I feel much better knowing Lewan doesn't have access to $10M from day-1, make that kid prove his worth and earn that contract. I think all teams should follow suit and hold off on signing their players.

He could be the living persona of an immovable object and there would be no excitement.

No one gets excited about a tackle.

No it isn't . Makes no difference at all.
The delay in signing is not on the Titans end, his agent is holding out for what they want. Titans want to sign them early as possible.

Look at it this way... How often have we been drafting WRs lately? Everyone was surprised when we went after wright... Then everyone was surprised we traded up for hunter.... Take a look at our depth chart. Imagine if we didn't make those moves in those times... What sort of WRs would we have right now??

Webster has a good view on the entire outlook and future. He's made the right/smart decisions during these early rounds even if they arnt the sexy pick. If warmack turns his sophomore season around and lewan helps to make a stellar O line this or the coming year... It's going to look genius.

thats absolute crap. the figures are predetermined, the language is most likely what they're hung up on

if we sign him the day after the draft he gets a $10M signing bonus as apposed to the $250k his agent front him, he can do far more damage with his signing bonis than the loan his agent give him
