As we all know this is an extremely slow time of year and quite frankly I'm bored lol

I'm sure this may have been posed before, but I don't feel like digging through past post to see if it has so I will lead off with this.

After reading all the reports and endorsements on Jake Locker, the general opinion is that we will do very well if he remains relatively healthy this year. Many of us fans believes this can even be a playoff year. So the question is, given our schedule, how many games does Jake has to play in this year to ensure the Titans get into the post season?

I'm actually going to say 12! Over or under, what are your thoughts?

I said 13 to friend of mine, but dropped it to 12 on this post because I think 13 was too easy lol

It doesn't matter how many games he misses, but when they happen.

If he he's hurt week 2, but pushes us into the playoffs and into a first round loss, he stays.

He gets hurt week 15. We back into the playoffs and lose with a backup QB. He is gone.

That's how I see it anyway.

I made a bet with my roommate that if Locker starts 14 games we will make the playoffs. I think I'm sitting pretty.

That's unique way of looking at it. I like Jake a lot, but I think he might be gone either way. If not they will resign him but still groom another QB.

I know people like to point to Matthew Stafford injury history, but even if he remains healthy this year you just don't have a guarantee that he's going to be able to stay healthy again as that year will be the exception. I just don't see how the team can be set to commit to him even if he has a good year.

Well for one, good NFL QB's dont just grow on trees, thats why if Jake proves his worth you hang on to him. And with QB's getting ridiculous deals these days, it could help us long term that his first few years were good/bad, he'd be a cheap signing.

Well, given his history as a starter if you take the over you're just being a blind optimist. I really hope he stays healthy. But if I were putting actual money on this I'd take the under.

If he stays healthy (and plays well) I could see us franchising him to see if he can do it again. And at that point the coaches should have some idea of what they have in Mettenberger. If it looks like he's not what they thought he was then I could see us taking another QB next year even if we do franchise Jake.
