I don't go into the NFL career guarantees of QBs. It's such a crap shoot (I would have sworn VY was gonna be the next NFL messiah)
But I'll be honest, Bridgewater looks like a kid who has some skills but will probably spend a lot of time on IR. Slight frame and since he's pretty much dependant on the line to hold up will probably take a lot of hard hits in the NFL.
The Titans string of injured #1 QB's is painfully long.
I like Bortles if he's there..

VY Killed my faith in the drafting process.

I assume that every QB will be a bust until they prove otherwise.. That's why I have never been really pumped about a QB coming out since 2006. There is at least a 60-70 percent chance that any given guy will not turn into a great QB.

Does that mean it was stupid to take Locker? I don't understand that. If I could have a guaranteed healthy Locker, I'd be completely happy. None of the QBs in the draft are guaranteed to be better than Locker.

In a perfect world we would have a guaranteed healthy Locker and win the division this season. He's just not durable.

You're also asking the wrong guy because I did not like the Locker pick when it happened. I wanted Robert Quinn.

So, yes, I considered the Locker pick stupid - even though I understood why we made the pick.

I hated all QBs in that draft class (even Cam included). Dalton in the 2nd was the only QB I was interested in, and even then that would not have been a great pick.

JCBRAVE What do you not like about Manziel other than size? He has the arm strength, is accurate on the run, makes plays out of nothing, is the highest of competitors, has shined in great moments (alabama), can be the face of our offense (which we lack), and can immediately challenge Locker for starter.

The only thing that he needs to do a little more work on is footwork, which is what QB coaches are trained to teach. If we can taylor an offense for Vince Young to shine in, who initially threw the ball basically sidearm, then we can definitely have an offense that can coincide with Manziel's attributes.

He might not be the "ideal" QB for Whiz's system, but a great coach can adapt his offense to help a young quarterback. Whiz is a run first kind of coach anyway so that can help attribute to Manziel's mobility if the run game can open up the play action.

Funny that Bortles has always been compared to Rothlesberger - big guy who can move just slightly or stand in there up to the last millisecond - take a hit and go again.
    Now he's Locker.. :football:

No I don't want to wait because of the probability that someone will be there. I'm choosing, imo, a better value at 11 than reaching for a QB.

My fear is that we reach for a QB in a way that the Jets and Bills reached last year with Geno and Manuel. I'm not comparing any of the QBs this year to them specifically but that their was better value to be had when they were up to pick.

I really don't think any QB is worth taking at 11. I would say Bortles at 11 < say, Murray in the 2nd. I would just rather reach in the 2nd than in the first is all.

And if we end up at the 11th pick next year with no qb? We just wait? Again? Or we sure there's a guaranteed qb when we pick next year?

All I'm saying, is if you believe one of them is the guy, you take him. The probability for locker to finish the season healthy is extremely low. There may not be a qb to take in the second. And next years draft is no different.

I agree completely. I believe that Bortles is NOT the guy.
