Scouting isnt an exact science, you know that.

Personally I leave no rock unturned, when one of you guys drops a name Im unfamiliar with, I go research that guy, and sometimes as in @xpmar9x's case (Jimmy Garopollo) theres a gem hiding under that rock.

Neither of the players JC refers to from Morgan State and Morehouse will ever see the field so what is the point there? Wow they are on the roster!

Morehouse has produced just 3 players who have seen a nfl field in the history of the nfl.

And who said we should never ever draft a small school player? Not me. I just said it is something you have to look at. A pass rusher from one of those schools has never played against a 1st rd caliber OT. Would that not matter?

So stop lecturing about small school players and stop acting like they are equal to players from the bigger schools.

I never said we would be successful in filling up a roster solely from those schools.

I said if you can play, the league will find you. Regardless of where you played. Khalil Mack, may be the number 1 overall pick, Buffalo.

Of course most of the picks are going to come from the Big 5 conferences. They produce more prospects than anyone. That doesn't mean if you played in the MWC, it makes you less of a prospect.

In terms of individual players, yea do your due diligence and look at small school guys too.

I could give you a big long list of successful NFL players from small schools.

It's looking like we'll. Have ok it choice of QB at 11

Sammy Watkins - WR - Player
SI's Peter King hears a big priority for the Jaguars will be to play it safe with the No. 3 overall pick.
"Play it safe" means taking a prospect that is NFL-ready now, not one dripping with more raw upside. For King, that means Clemson WR Sammy Watkins or Texas A&M OT Jake Matthews. We'd add in Buffalo OLB Khalil Mack as an ideal fit as long as GM David Caldwell isn't scared off by the small-school status.

Aaron Donald - DL - Player
SI's Peter King says the Vikings want a front-seven disruptor at No. 8 overall.
King says the Vikes "are more inclined than ever" to get a quarterback in the second round, not with their top pick. He suggests Aaron Donald as a target at No. 8 and in terms of disruption from the interior, they couldn't do better. Donald, who has drawn some Geno Atkins comparisons, had 11 sacks, 28.5 tackles for a loss, four forced fumbles and three batted passes as a senior at Pitt.

SI's Peter King senses the Rams like Auburn OT Greg Robinson at No. 2 overall.
Meanwhile, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch believes the Rams are leaning toward Texas A&M OT Jake Matthews. Either way, it looks like they'll go Jadeveon Clowney (if he's surprisingly available), offensive tackle, or trade down. Robinson may not be as NFL-polished right now as Matthews, but his long-term ceiling and tape are freakish. He also played with Jeff Fisher's son at Auburn.

ILB may be alright but Woodyard/Brown isn't exactly a 100% ilb confident duo. Neither are Fokou/Mccarthy. We have 4 capable guys there, but who knows. God don't tell me you're satisfied with Greene/McCluster/Battle at RB. That's a joke.

I'd like to add another name at pass rusher. Morgan doesn't get to the QB an awful lot. Ayers looks a good fit for this defense but we have to see. No guarantee Phillips puts up big numbers at age 33, or that Wimbley actually bounces back, because he's been awful the last 2 seasons.

3 300+ linemen on the roster? Lee Hill, Woods, Pitoitua.. Jurrell Casey isn't even 300 lbs anymore.

I was unable to quote on my tablet for some reason. My post was in responce to Ten Titans from a couple pages before saying Carr had the most experience among draft possibilities. Murray has had the most snaps of this draft class. You are correct that 20 to 25 games is plenty to base an educated opinion on. It will be interesting to see what happens with this class--I have a feeling that many of these QBs are going to fall further down the board then expected. Manziel being one of them. I can't see the Browns taking QB with their first pick (they might), but if they don't, there might not be a run on the position early on.

You are probably correct. Carr has the most experience of the QBs that aren't career backups.

The point being, he is as NFL ready as they come. He won't have a long adjustment.

Yeah, I got your point. All of these QBs may end up being back ups, and not one stands heads or tails above the other. Murray most likely grades higher if not for his ACL injury and stature. None of these quarterbacks stand out as being a super star. I like Carr, really don't have a problem with him- I like Bortles too, but as things line up I would be very cool with us drafting Murray as well. I will be Ok with us drafting a QB in the 2nd- take your choice, or in the 4th- take your choice. None will be better than our current starter.
