Its been highly speculated and I believe even stated by the Lions that they were looking for a receiver outside of Megatron. Recent trends suggest that, it wasn't premature for the front office to move up in front of the Lions.

Whatever you say, there is no way you could possibly know what the Lions had in mind, pure and simple. You can speculate all you want but the truth is none of us know what would have happened had we not traded up a few spots.

Then how can you so confidently critique the man for the trade up?? Considering your argument is "he would have been there"

    Pot meet kettle.

I said this on another board about Hunter......

When you have a guy who has all the physical tools to be one of the best in the league, and you can move up to take him for as little as we did, you do it. His biggest knock was his hands, and he was known for having soft hands early at UT before his injuries. His problem was mental, catching game winners will probably change that. I am not worried about Hunter.

The trade is easy! Switch with Dallas (16) so they can get Donald and we get Denard and their second/ third and fifth.

If we coukd make this happen, we gotta pulk the trigger. The only reason we shouldn't trade down is if they like a qb that's still on the board. Otherwise we would really benefit from a move down. Imo it would be a good idea to move back into the 20s and get picks this year and next

Don't miss quote me, I said "most likely" would be there. Truth is I don't know for sure either but when you are talking about a few spots, the odds are greater that you will get the player you want, as opposed to waiting, say, half a round. Based on what Hunter did last year, no, he wasn't worth trading up for. That said, I have a lot of hope that he'll explode this year.

If you're going to say you're willing to wait then you have to confidently own the opinion. Not "well maybe and because maaaaybe I'm gonna critique it"

Hunter caught TWO clutch TDs that won us games. As a rookie that is easily worth trading up for. His TD to reception ratio was nice as well.

For a rookie with his upside and play this last season, he easily warranted a trade up.
