I agree that if you like Carr at 16-20 you should just get him at 11. Basically a first rd grade is enough to make that move. The position is too important and it is a position of weakness for us.

I'm not sure what Riverman wants at 11. Andrew Luck and guys like him will never be there at 11.

Guys like Roethlisberger and Flacco are available at 11 and I doubt Riverman would have thought of them as "sure fire" either.

Just give us a direction with #11. I will rally behind the team because I am a Titans fan. I just don't want them reaching and taking someone that is a non-impact. We all want a trade back for an extra pick naturally, but we have to expect that it won't happen.

ESPN Stats & Information reports that Fresno State's Derek Carr completed only 30.9 percent of his passes when under duress in 2013.
This number is terrifying for a few reasons. First off, it's the lowest duress rate of any top quarterback prospect. Second, NFL QBs completed 41.5 percent of passes when under duress last year. Only three NFL QBS had a duress percentage lower than Carr's collegiate rate. We don't need to explain the difference between NFL edge rushers and those found in the Mountain West Conference. My point is he isn't worth #11. He isn't franchise material.

And the widely accepted draft value system says there is a 3rd round pick value difference between #11 and #16. My ideal scenario is for us to smokescreen some interest in Manziel and trade with Dallas if he is on the board at #11. Go to #16 pick up a difference maker still on the board AND A 3rd round (#78). We could get quality QB with our 16 or #42 or #78 (from Dallas).

That would be amazing. I would love to move back to 16 and pick up a 3rd. And there would still be a chance of Barr being there for us.

Oversaid but arghhhh I hate how we don't have a 3rd. I like the idea of drafting & putting Daniel McCullers at NT, but tough to get him without a 3rd + maybe needing QB/RB round 4. Damn!

biggest knock on McCullers seems to be he offers 0 as a pass rusher, but who cares if we have Barr (hoping), Casey, Morgan, Ayers, Wimbley, Phillips & Brown??

Riverman says that Carr is not franchise material. But his opinion does not matter. I think he is franchise material and mine doesn't mater either. Bottom line is if the titans agree with me and think he is franchise material and they have a first rd grade on him they should select him at 11. It is a need position.

A meaningless statistic when taken out of context. Counting pass attempts and sacks(Not scramble rush attempts) Carr went back to pass 670 times last year and had a bad result only 17 times. 8 ints and 11 sacks. So while under duress he is not eating the ball and taking losses and he sure in the hell is not throwing it to the other team.

How many QBs in this draft have a lower int % than carr and a lower sack % than Carr?

What about when QBs are not under duress? Carr completed almost 69% of his passes so he must have the highest comp % when not under duress. So what is that stat 90%?

The Quarterback position has grossly been overvalued and inflated. Teams are getting desperate and drafting these prospects before they should. Last year was the first year we seen the Quarterbacks drafted where they should be. Look at the Bengals, 49ers, and Seahawks I believe they were rewarded with their patience. Even if Dalton has been terrible in the playoff games he still gets his team there.
