    Who?

When cable/satellite/content providers find a way to make getting the shows I want to see more convenient let me know.

I pay for cable and internet.

If I forget to DVR my show I have no problem ripping it off the web.

Set sail for the Bay and I can have the show I want within a few minutes sent straight to my TV.

I watch Netflix for the TV shows more than the movies anyway. If it wasn't for Netflix then not sure if I ever would've watched Mad Men, Arrow, Arrested Development, etc. Especially not House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and the upcoming Marvel shows.

Would be nice if they upgraded their movie selection a bit.

I was considering switching to DTV, but I've been going to watch the games at this local Pizza place/bar down the street from my house for years that I don't even have to pay for my food anymore haha, so it actually is cheaper these days.

You weren't around during the legendary Jesse Stylex years here?
He was another who professed love of stealing copyrighted content. In a big way.
I also pay for cable and internet. Between OnDemand, Netflix (and occasionally YouTube for something real old) I am able to get everything I'm after if the DVR misses it- sans maybe old out of print stuff.

I only "steal" what they don't make available.

    The way I see it.

If I pay my cable bill and miss something, I already paid my fee to watch it. I'll get it when I want and where I want at my convenience.

DTV is the way to go. I pay 50 a month for 150+ channels with dvr and got sunday ticket free for the first year. And you have to cancel before playoffs start or they will charge you for the next season

Yeah I don't get it. A couple of bucks increase and people are acting like it's the end of the world. Of course every individual has to make the decision on what Netflix is worth to them. But I don't see how you can argue it's not a good value. There's so much content available and it costs mere dollars per month. Will all of that content be for you? No. Will they have every movie you want to see? No. But those are ridiculous expectations to have at the price point. Netflix isn't meant to be a one-stop shop for ALL of your viewing needs. If it were it would cost a hell of a lot more.

It just amazes me when I hear people complaining about the price of Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, etc. Even though all those services cost less per month than the price of ONE disc-based movie or album.

Prepare yourself for the price hike after the first year. DTV is a good service though. I enjoyed it while I had it. Just couldn't personally justify the price anymore.

Yeah I think its supposed to go up to 70 in a couple months but still better than the 120 I paid for time warner cable and haven't had any problems unlike the multiple problems I had with cable

I really don't see the difference in someone DVRing and downloading.. you're paying the cable company either way. And with music, what did they do about people that recorded with cassette tapes?
