Do we also hold pass attempts against prolific passers? Just asking because I've never seen it. It's not like we fed CJ the ball just to feed him the ball. We did it because like it or not he was our best player and gave us the best chance to win. The passing game was not going to get it done. Likewise teams with great QB's "feed" the QB with tons of passing attempts.

The YPC argument bugs me not because it's accurate (which it is, numbers don't lie) but because it's a shallow argument. In 2012 CJ had 4.5 YPC yet many on here were still calling for his head.If a bad YPC automatically equals a bad RB then surely a good YPC year equals a good RB right? Seemingly not otherwise he would have received praise in 2012 right? It's not that I think YPC is irrelevant, I just don't think it's the be all end all stat to judge a RB by. No one stat should be used in a vacuum.

Oh I think we absolutely fed CJ the ball just to feed him the ball, particularly this past year. But that's not CJ's fault. I put that more on the incompetency of possibly the worst NFL coaching staff I've ever seen. They clearly just did not know what else to do and were praying for a miracle each and every week.

I agree that it's no the end all be all stat. As I said in my earlier post, I typically only use it when people inevitably bring up the "1,000 yard" stat. Some people (not saying you) want to ignore all of CJ's negatives on the field and all of the TERRIBLE PR moves he's made these past few years and just go "b-b-b-b-but he always gets 1,000 yards!" as if that should automatically endear him to fans and justify his paycheck. That's when I think it's relevant to bring up the YPC. When you're 32nd and 44th in YPC, I don't think you should necessarily be touting "1,000 yards" as if it's some great accomplishment.

I can vibe with that. Most weren't really aware of the 1,000 yard streak until it was mentioned in a broadcast. I do think the 1,000 yard streak carries a bit more weight than the YPC thing only because one shows consistency where as the other is singling out one season but yeah, neither is necessarily a slam dunk argument one way or the other.

Look at Greene past as a starting RB and then compare it with CJ's. Enough said. If CJ could barely get a 1000 yards there is no way Greene could have as the primary back and main focus of every defense.

Can you blame him for taking a pay cut with another team instead of one that has only been to the playoffs twice in the last 10 years?

YPC is most over rated stat. Do you want me to give you YAC and explain that Wright is garbage?

When that team is the Jets, yes I can blame him.

We beat that garbage team 38-13 with CJ rushing 15 times for 21 yards. We had no run game and still bent them over hard and thrusted relentlessly.

This is likely Rex Ryan's last season... just funny how "Every Coach's Dream" will have seen three coaches fired in his seven seasons in the league.

Lol i confused myself on that one. I don't Yards Per Carry or Yards Per Catch is that big of a factor in determining if a player is successful or not. CJ has a low avg respectively and Wright has a low avg respectively.

They also took out our QB therefore I say they won the game in the long run.
