According to Paul Kuharsky not only does he feel like he doesn't deserve to be in, he says he isn't even close to being a great player of his generation. Thoughts?

Wrong sub forum and if you are going to say 'According to Paul Kuharsky', it helps to provide the link with that quote, so posters have something to reference.

This is how a good thread is started, not trying to be a dick.

    I'm with Paul on this.

I loved Steve just like everyone else. But somewhere along the way many, many Titan fans seem to have put Steve on this pedestal that he really doesn't deserve to be on, at least IMO. Is he the greatest Titan QB ever? Absolutely. Is that really saying much? Not really.

I used to say he would make it in eventually.

Then I took the homer glasses off and realized it's just not going to happen.

Eddie and Mase both have a better chance at making it in. Mase is around top 10 all time for receiving yards. Somewhere in that range. Eddie is in the 10,000+ rush yard club, which is a pretty solid one.

Steve was just a warrior and only had a couple of elite seasons. Average or mediocre the rest of his career. But he's still my favorite player. He gave it his all every Sunday.

Yeah I think it's the whole "warrior" aspect combined with his tragic death that explains a lot of the overhyping of Steve's place in history. Loved the guy. Respect the hell out of his toughness. But he's not a HoFer.

No. His career didnt earn him a spot there, and his controversial cheating death sealed the deal.
