I would be so excited if we got Barr and Mason. That'd be sick. Then if we came around in the 4th and took Murray all the sudden I would have extremely high hopes for this team.

I've never wanted a 3rd round pick more that I do this year...

I think we would've wanted it just as bad last year.

Justin Hunter better live up to expectations. The depth at WR this year and the overall depth throughout makes that selection very important. Could have stayed at 40 last year and gotten a damn good WR in the second this year without giving anything up. Gotta have more foresight than that, Ruston.

What do you guys think of a likely option at 11, Anthony Barr?

He's clearly raw as he's only played defense for 2 years, but he's an athletic freak. 6'5, 255 with 4.4 speed! His first step is unbelievably quick, and his spin move is nasty. He has a nice motor and just gets to the QB. He also has a GREAT knack for stripping the ball from the QB. His timing there is great.

At the same time, his tape doesn't show me much power, which scares me vs NFL Tackles. Of course a guy isn't going to get to the QB every play (and he faced a lot of double teams) but sometimes it's concerning how long it takes him to get off a block (if he gets off it). He'll also struggle dropping into coverage early in his career imo, he's raw & has a lot to learn about passing schemes.

I wouldn't be super happy or super pissed if we take him. I'd be content & excited about his potential.

Let's remember his UCLA DC Lou Spanos is now our LB coach. He should have a big say whether we draft him or not (not final decision but he should be able to sway the decision one way or another).

Have to admit, adding him to a group with Ayers, Brown & Woodyard would definitely give us the most athletic LB group in the NFL (if we don't already have that).

I see a lot of the things McShay has talked about lately. Stalls when he tries to convert speed to power, lacks game-strength, isn't exceptionally quick twitch. Then you look at the production. 40-something tackles for a loss and 20+ sacks over a two-year period having never played defense before.

I think if you draft him he has a steep learning curve and will disappoint initially and people will get on him. I'm not sure he's a draft and start player.
