Anytime a young QB has to learn an entirely new system it is definitely a hindrance. At some point if a player continues to fail in every system you have to move one. Locker is a great guy and a great teammate. I've said that since day 1. But he is not a franchise QB.

He might not be a franchise QB but he's still a better QB than anyone we have access to.

The guy is smart, he can pick up a new system just the same way Philip Rivers, Alex Smith, and Nick Foles did last year.

Stop holding on to bad excuses, they are bad.

The thing is phillip rivers and alex smith both showed they could be successful in previous years. Locker hasn't.

That's where I sit. He's good when healthy, which is never. Can't have an injured QB lead your team.... Sorry Jake

The good news is that ruston webster will be running this draft not Whiz. I think Whiz can flat out coach but when he wanted charlie f****** whitehurst on this roster, I have to question talent evaluation

I find your statement very interesting because it should be true but I just don't think it is. While being in an NFL system is a plus for Locker I believe that just being in an NFL system isn't what makes guys better. I firmly believe there is no substitute for actual playing time and on that front Jake really has less game experience that guys like Luck and RG3. Maybe at first we would see some of these young QB's come in and struggle but as the season goes on and they gain more experience I could see them surpassing Jake, especially if Jake gets hurt again. I could see a guy like Derek Carr with 12-14 games under his belt being better than Jake. I would love to feel differently because I love his character and he has some sweet wheels on him but I just think this development has been too retarded by his injuries and our offenssive short comings in general. I'll be praying that the Matt Stafford comparison is accurate in this case. I would really like to be sure that our QB of the future is on the roster.

This scares the hell out of me. I LOVE Barr for us, but I really respect Mayock's opinion. I wonder what causes him to say this.

I want Manziel or Murray this year that's it. Waiting til next year is never a good idea you can't let next year influence this years decision cause we have no idea where we will pick next year what if we pick 15th do you think we will be in position to get the top QB. Plus Hundley and Mariotta can run so everyone will use that against drafting them cause running QB's are avoided like a plague on this board cause of two recent failures. Bryce Petty is the best QB coming out next year.
