I grew up with a white kid who was an absolute stud at CB. He was 6'1", ran 4.4's, and had a 35+" vert. Every major school that recruited him wanted him to gain 20-30 lbs and play safety. He couldn't stay healthy and lost his speed with that extra weight on his frame and fizzled out as a college player.

So far in this thread someone has proclaimed they love mariani, he has hands of gold, and he deserves another paycheck from this team. The **** is wrong with yall?

Do you not think he deserves another chance with a one year deal that's very minimal to no cap hit what's so ever? Really? It's not your money and they screwed him over last year.

Reynaud has scared this franchise so hard about return men that we want to enter the season with at least 3 amazing ones....lol jk

I'm happy for Mariani on this one. It's a simple 'prove it' deal and I for one, am happy this kid is getting that chance after the last 2 seasons ended in pre-season with injury. I'm happy we're giving him a chance.

Relax ppl. It's an extra camp body at WR (still low on #s) and a capable return man to battle for that job. As for WR, I bet Whiz will like to give him a chance in camp/pre-season to see if he can use him similar to Woodhead/McCluster. Just trying things out.

This doesn't hurt at all. He's certainly not guaranteed a spot on the 53.

IDC if he gets another chance or not just don't tell me you love the guy, that he has hands of gold, or that he deserves another paycheck from us. He got paid a whole seasons salary to rehab last year. He's made contributions to this team for one season his rookie year and has done nothing since. Hands of Gold!? 5 catches for 24 yards and someone actually called his hands gold. Sorry if I look at the situation a little more logical than white dudes who get man crushes on white WR's.

It wasn't his choice to not play all season. He literally said that himself. He would have been ready for play by week 5. Team thought that Reynald could do his job, they were wrong. That fact that people are remotely upset about this is ridiculous.

I have always liked Mariani. He is a tough little kid (Weak Bones not withstanding) with a great attitude. I welcome him back to the team.

He obviously has speed and good hands or he would have never been a returner. Those attributes add up to being a good Wide Receiver as well.

This afternoon in an interview he stated that he had had a chance to meet the new coaching staff while he was rehabbing / working out at the facility in February. Evidently his work ethic and progress has impressed some people. He seemed really excited for the opportunity to be a part of this team again. Let's hope he can return to form and carve out a place for himself, whether as a receiver or on special teams.

That's a black dudes position. Just like I don't like white bball players.
