Honestly that's not what I was implying at all. All I was saying was by going public it essentially put everyone on notice given the coaches/staff wasn't doing anything about it, and it's not as if he could report it to our owner who health was declining.

I'm simply saying when you report something to management and nothing is done, you find a way to raise your concern if your concerns are just.

As far as the players not owing the fans anything I'd have to respectfully disagree. Without our support and financial contributions to the league through ticket sells, concessions, Sunday Ticket Purchases, etc funding the players they have no jobs in the NFL...end of story.

So I think they owe us a lot. At a bare minimum they owe us the consideration of caring what type of product they put on the field.

I stated in my post explicitly that the team owes the fans the effort to win games which is the same thing as the product on the field so there is that. I also explicitly pointed out that the fans financially support the league. Did you even read my post?

Anyways fans have way less input than they think they have and for good reason. Fans are largely illogical, emotional idiots who would absolutely sink their favorite team if they actually had as much input as they think they deserve. The hierarchy of the team lies within the team not outside of it. If Delanie was looking to go over the staff's head he could of done so by meeting with ownership, I doubt he followed the process that far. The media will never help things like this all it can do is make things worse for the team. Just look at what this very situation has lead to. Are there any sweeping changes going on in an effort to "correct" this? No. Are players having to answer questions about Delanie's comments rather than focus on things that actually matter? Yes. That my friend is what we call a distraction and Mr. Walker created it.

I think the only thing that comes out of this is that players learn that they can't trust/confide in Delanie Walker.

We were very close to being a winning team. We were in pretty much every game. Him calling others out did nothing but cause harm. There's a reason the 49'ers didn't feel the need to keep him. We overpaid for him period.

I actually missed your point the first time I read your reply about the fans financial support etc and didn't see it until I re-read it. Guess this is what happens when you speed read through post. So yeah we agree.

As far as fans having less far less power than they think, that could go both ways if enough people banned together for a common cause. If fans stop supporting then bills stop getting paid, paychecks stop getting cut. I'd imagine that's a pretty big deal of power. But a one off fan like you or myself, yeah definitely we have virtually no input.

As far as fans being ignorant etc...I agree. I'm not one to comment on what the front office is doing and validate and/or invalidate it. However, I do look at what result the front office get from their efforts and have all the right as a fan to question their approach if the result isn't sufficient.

And in regards to Walker being a distraction, we agree I do think this situation created a distraction. I also put it on the old coaches as well, because had they dealt with it accordingly there would be no distraction and he would have never gone to the media. That's just my take on it...

Close to being a winning team and being a winning team are two very different things. Close only counts in horseshoes and grenades. We were close to making a come back in the Superbowl against the Rams, we were close to advancing to the Superbowl the year we lost to the Ravens, we were close to making a playoff berth a couple of years ago and lost out by 1 game to the Bengals, we were close to winning 3 games this year that we lost costing us our playoff berth. I'm tired of being close to being good. I'm tired of being mediocre, I'm ready for us to be good!

I do agree with you that were in a lot of close games last year. Honestly, we were also on the end of some crappy officiating in at least 3 of the loses. However, at the end of the day good teams find a way to win those games. Good teams no how to win close. They win tough games. I love our Titans but I'm tired of making excuses for this team to continue to be mediocre. It's time for these players to start stepping up....

The word too and two are very different things as well. And no and know is very different things as well.

With that being said I do agree that close doesn't mean much. But it does show that we are not far away. Either way what Walker did, did not help our situation at all.

Your stance on most of these things seems pretty reasonable to me. I've just always kinda disliked most other fans and the level of entitlement many display. It's always come off as really arrogant to me but I guess it is what it is. I actually don't mind Delanie or that he tried to voice a concern he had. It's the fact that he got the media involved that bugs me because they make most things worse. It's possible that the team didn't address his concerns but what if the reason they didn't is because they felt he was blowing things out of proportion? That's only one possible scenario but to me it has just as much credibility as any other one of the theories I see floated around which is absolutely none. I just hope they can put this stuff in the rear view cause this team needs to be unified if we're gonna get any better. Anything that promotes division into "us" and "them" is not good.

The games being "close" last year definitely matters. Just listen to our players talk in their interviews. Many mention that they were really close last year and had "the ball bounced " their way a few times things would have been different. The fact that they were in every game last season has tremendously helped the players' confidence and their belief that they can win this season. Let's hope that belief translates into wins.
